Little light funk jazz number, that fun NOLA funk feel. A little Meters and Crusaders stuck together. If you isolated my trombone and sax tracks it would be very obvious that I can't play, but in the mix it adds just the right slop.

Beam Up's debut 7" popped up last year following several years of mostly digital productions, with the 1st 45 receiving solid reviews worldwide. This is the second in a series of singles inspired by roots reggae vibes (mostly from the golden era of the 70s). Beam Up found inspiration here from 80s (subliminally so) and 90s basslines. Both tracks are constructed from the ground up in Beam Up's Berlin X-36 studio with an organic feel, using up-to-the-time methods.&#13;

Divers&#13;
Warm, heavy riddim underpinned with a steady kick drum that retains a reggae groove with the energy of steppers. Beam Up’s horns ride the riddim in an upful celebrationary style, with a foghorn trombone stretched to the point of breaking, taking the lead. Tasty dubbing. An excellent scoop testing cut!&#13;

Summery rootsy steppers with classic eastern tinged melody driven by melodica, Rhodes and horns. If you listen closely you’ll hear a little vocal action coming through from the melodica. Beam Up worked out that the riddim was inspired by Dematerlalize during writing the track - proof of it’s earworm credentials! Tasty dubbing as always, right to the very last drop.&#13;

Med School’s master of melodic drum & bass bliss, Etherwood returns with his 6-track release ‘Lost In The Right Direction’. Since his third album ‘In Stillness’ Etherwood has been travelling through western Europe in his converted camper, breathing in the inspiration that the French hills of Munster and German hikes through Tennenloher Forest have to offer. Alongside his own vocal performance he’s brought in the talents of New Zealand’s singer/songwriter Thomas Oliver, as well as Brighton-based Phoebe Freya.

As an alchemist of atmospherics, Etherwood has introduced a blissful collaboration with Hospital family favourite, Thomas Oliver on ‘See The Sky’. His soaring high notes across Etherwood’s serene beats and moving riffs drive through for a powerful, heart-wrenching drum & bass ballad.

‘Clouds’ is a treat for the senses from start to finish, shimmering D+B soul comes equipped with a moving vocal lead from Phoebe Freya, gentle keys and gorgeous guitar solos. Plus, Etherwood brings through his warm vocal tones on ‘Driving Out’ and ‘The Night’, the latter steering into down-tempo trip-hop territory.

In this sonic re-imagining of his travels and experiences throughout the world are the hypnotic liquid instrumentals ‘Lulerain’, packed with accents of east-asian instrumentation, and ‘Away From It All’, that calls back to Etherwood’s signature sound.
