Hailing from South Korea, Shubostar has been immersing herself in the ever evolving underground scene of South Korea and Thailand and now in Mexico.

Her eclectic music taste spans various style from disco to techno but her music has a common theme of ' Cosmic'. Dark Disco perhaps?

File Under Disco revisit the 2013 Disco classic-in-the-making Make It Hot, one of the biggest tunes released on their 100% original Disco imprint. 

The original track showcased the musical talents of NYC maestro JKriv and the wonderful vocal skills of Adeline. These days Jason is one of the faces behind the Razor-N-Tape label, co-songwriter and bassist with live NYC disco act Escort and the producer behind various big releases on Z Records and Glitterbox. He really is a contemporary Disco Machine!

His remix launches a new and raw electronic interpretation that completely reignites the original vocal performance by Adeline into an ecstatic dance floor work out. The 12" also has two exemplary interpretations by Ray Mang and Pete Herbert & Dicky Trisco!

It’s a pleasure to introduce to you ‘Sound Support’, a collaboration born out of Detroit Swindle’s critically acclaimed live act, between Lorenz Rhode and the Swindles own Lars Dales. These guys started making music together a while back and the result is finally here for your listening pleasure.
Dutch super duo DS have been flying since 2011, going from strength to strength. Riding high with releases on their own Heist Recordings as well as AUS, Strut and countless other labels. German keyboard player Lorenz Rhode possesses some exceptional skills on the piano and vocoder and has contributed to hi profiles remixes for the likes of Jamie Lidell, Yelle (Kitsune), Moulline (Gomma), Strip Steve (Boysnoize. This is naming just a few.
As ‘Sound Support’, these two share a love for all things nerdy and programming. Their countless studio sessions have led to a staggering amount of material, this offering finding its way to Oslo wonder boy Prins Thomas and Wordandsound’s Kai Frager’s label Internasjonal. As the label is a platform for retro futurism and house not house, it is a perfect home for this release. ‘Sound Support’ have a definite knack for light-footed, synth-heavy dance music and a love for playful melodies with big breakdowns. They clearly have a lot of fun in the studio as their results reflect their upbeat and playful personalities. Their music contains a sense of freedom, live-feel, and euphoria.
Opener ‘Stab by Stab‘ kicks off with pearly echoed piano, sounding like an 80’s dub, before breaking down into a deep-beat bass journey, slowly climbing higher, bringing it all together in one joyous and melancholic closing. You could easily mistake ‘Europe’ as a blend of Herbie Hancock and Massive Attack, flourished with a guitar-notguitar solo. Finally, the infectious disco beat of ‘Catwalk ‘, its bubbly SH-101 bassline and spacey chords that just keep going, pulling you in further and further and further.
Nordic Wizard Prins Thomas lulls us into his brightly hued utopia of disco-rock and faded early house days, with his take on ‘Europe’. It’s a treat for the feet and the senses, a ‘Diskomiks’ classic that doesn’t disappoint. This EP is the result of two musical talents and like-minded funsters, getting together to bring us some joy through their sounds. This music is much needed right now.

Because I've added vari-speed, I get to choose what speed I encode them at, I've done a few different versions of all my fave ones and it's usually just what I think sounds good at the time or just different to what I'm used to.
This one is from a That's cassette labelled copy III , i used a lot of the VX90 tapes in that period of my life.
It is the 12th track on side a.
Even though I used to write COPY *.number, they were actually the original masters.
Think was one of the first tracks that had a small section with intentional microtuning, [harmonic series sec]
Encoded with Nakamichi CR7e cassette deck.

+added, it cuts out at the end coz the tape ran out :)
I remember sometimes recording tracks to cassettes, I'd be looking at the cassette nearing the end and try and finish the track before the tape ran out :)

Street Player, or Lee Hundy as he’s known outside of the studio, knows his way around a hook. Feel My Love is an upbeat house number hinged on a bittersweet disco-tinged vocal. “When I’m in the studio I always record lots of different short ideas and phrases, most of which end up unfinished and put to one side,” explains Bakalakos. “Over the summer I decided that rather than lose them forever in the depths of my hard drive I’d go through them, almost like I was crate digging, and sample my own music. So ‘Colours’, named after the different folders I store demos in, is really this clash of styles and references from over the years blended together.”

As an act of sonic bricolage 'Colours' comes together seamlessly. Short stabs of euphoric vocals, vintage 808 percussion, filtered disco melodies and a classic French Touch bass line all combine to produce a track that comfortably sits in the sweet spot between artists like Alan Braxe and Caribou, and offers a last gasp of summer even as the nights begin to draw in.
