Around the time of this show (2011-06-30) a fair amount of Toureg groups had been coming through Portland that I had the pleasure of opening for (including Tinariwen and Bombino). I used a lot of that material for this night while opening for the fabulous Western Saharan act Group Doueh. Many of the tracks are from nearby musically rich Mali with some from or influenced by neighboring Morocco and Algeria.
