Reece Johnson:
First found his love of House music at nights such as Subliminal Sessions, Hed Kandi, and local Sheffield House night, Pin-Up at The Fez Club. It was seeing DJ’s such as DJ Touché, M.A.N.D.Y. Nic Fanciulli and X-Press 2 where he first realised that he wanted to be that person behind the decks playing music to the people dancing in front.
From that point Reece started building his vinyl collection looking for that elusive first break.

We are back with SRS179 and we are thrilled to welcome another amazing artist from Austin, Texas DJ Ibanez to Soul Room Sessions!

DJ Ibanez is a House music producer and DJ based out of Austin, TX. His sound is heavily influenced by jazz, disco, funk, and 90s classic house music.

DJ Ibanez started DJing in the late 90s in McAllen, TX. After moving to Austin, he quickly integrated himself into the dance community. In 2019, he founded Motive Artistry Music, a premier music promotion company, focused on bringing pioneers of house music like DJ Spen and Chez Damier to Austin.

In 2020, DJ Ibanez began producing his own music, quickly signing on to record labels Grin Music (US), House Salad (Mexico), and Groovy Riddim (Spain). And since producing, DJ Ibanez has released multiple tracks and included in several charts and podcasts.

We're thrilled to feature this house music maestro and hope you all enjoy the mix!

This past weekend I hosted a 12 hour virtual event on Twitch, showcasing previous guests on Soul Room Sessions, Mark Denim, Nick Nonsense, House Meanz House, Alex Maiz, Kaleido Kev, Kochi as well as myself playing live sets from 10am-10pm!!

I am my own worst critic when it comes to my mixing, and this set is honestly probably my best mix I've made in years.  I had a full chat room with some of my best house music friends from around the world tuning in, and it felt like a spiritual journey with them over the 2 plus hours of my set.  This pandemic sucks for sure, but being able to have virtual experiences like this was a very cool thing to make happen.
