Sam Thomas is a British composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist known for his cinematic, genre-defying sound that strikes a balance between raw intimacy and widescreen expanse. Rooted in a deep love of instrumental narrative, his music spans original solo albums, collaborations, and commissioned pieces for film, dance and theatre.

His debut album Blind Theatre (Just Music, 2013) marked a bold introduction - an intricately layered instrumental work praised for its sweeping orchestral arrangements and evocative production, described by critics as “majestic”, “hauntingly beautiful”, and “a rare debut with a fully formed identity”. 

After years producing for other artists and developing his East London, now Margate studio (Sound Terrace studio), he returned with not one but two releases: Mantle (Iconoclast/Sony) - a collaboration with renowned multi-disciplinary artist Isamaya Ffrench, and Rane, a solo album featuring a plethora of diverse vocalists. Both projects served to further define his sonic world - incorporating voices, design and layered atmospherics. 

To complement Mantle, Thomas released a companion virtual instrument, The Sound of Love Lost, for Native Instruments’ Kontakt player, inviting other creators in.

In 2024 Thomas introduced Gloria Untold - an AI-born alter ego. Sam Thomas’ cryptic playground for a strange new world.

Across all his work, from side project to label backed releases, Thomas creates music that is as expansive as it is introspective.
