Beautiful einklang with the first early morning birds singing together with the live played gongs somewhere in the black forrest, this recording happened some time ago, but it is still one of my favorites; I remember it was really difficult to find a place with no noises around; mission impossible! At a certain point one can hear the train from Karlsruhe to Basel.

Yūgen, was birthed out of a particularly profound experience that pushed me to my edges, forcing me to stretch beyond my own self-imposed limitations. Yūgen is a Japanese word with a dual meaning. It invokes both a sense of the profound and mysterious beauty of the universe as well as the sad beauty of human suffering.

I have come to know this place. Its wordless, but full of sound. I journeyed there in the arms of the Grandmother, as she is known, during a plant medicine ceremony that imprinted me with a new level of trust for this life. The experience was a living paradox as I met myself between the beauty of my expansion and the terror of my unraveling.

We as a people and a planet continue to live a physical existence, and the broader microcosmic and macrocosmic energies of this universe often escape us. We become entrained in the patterns of our conditions. We often get comfortable in the known. My journey taught me to break away from the old structure and rise to new possibilities. It taught me to embrace the ineffable mystery and ascend into higher frequencies of light, joy, and purpose… To access the extraordinary that exist within us, and ultimately, to trust.

Tao is an offering to the present moment.  Honoring the Kotamo & Monochord instrument played by André Lehner. Kotamo a combination of a Koto, a tampura and a monochord. From the japanese culture and bridge between different cultures in a fascinating way.  Singing with him, expressing my gratitude for the beauty of his presence and support during the recording process with the alchemist Tom Xuqutopi, who was our sound engineer during the recording of the album and who also did the mixing. Deep gratitude from my heart to my two brothers for their dedication and their quality of presence and listening which is also part of the creation of this moment, Essência."

“Essência” is a magical journey through the (sound) landscapes of Peru, Colombia, Chile, Guatemala, Austria and Portugal. Sounds of pure nature recorded in different places of the earth. In those sanctuaries, from my inner silence, an empty space is created within me to receive and give birth. Being at service to the essence and translating it into music. Serving as an instrument I transmit through my voice, my words, and the different instruments that I play. Being connected with everything, disappearing, like a bridge joining the bodies of sound and silence.”
