Back on my label RUNA with a new techno focused EP, showcasing the duality of these times with two opposing tracks, yet complementing each other at the same time. Simple to Complex / Differentiation to unity : Opposing forces supporting each other with the potential to interact and co-evolve at different levels of reality.

The music I'm creating, both techno and ambient, is the result of many inner battles, discoveries, joys and sorrows, it's the best way we have as artists to get our emotions out right? After all that's the essence of any form of Art: Creating to give energy back to the world, to share, to be excited or emotional, together.

After kicking-off the trilogy with ‘Obsidian’, Joran van Pol now delivers the second installment: ‘Something’. ‘Something’ is - like reflected in the artwork - even rougher than its predecessor. Techno DJ/producer Joran van Pol has a somewhat special story. His debut release ‘Untitled 2’ was signed to Richie Hawtin’s Minus, followed by Joran's seminal release 'Faded'. Where do you go from there? Well, with the ‘Implicit E.P.’ on Dubfire’s Sci+Tec, several releases on Joris Voorn’s label Rejected, a remix and full E.P. ’Immediate E.P.’ on Matador’s Rukus and a collab with Maksim Dark ‘Thrill’ on Senso Sounds. ‘Derelict’ on Second State was added in 2020.

Unrilis is thrilled to announce the debut solo release from Dino Barretta called ‘Come With Me’.

Born and raised in Italy, Dino Barretta’s journey in the music industry started at a very young age when he played synths for several bands and performed at just friends’ parties before become a music producer working at Music Factory Studio in Naples and now he is dedicating himself to music production, and drawing from his feelings and life experience to influence his work and art.

Dino Baretta: “From several years I have been working in my studio (Music Factory - Italy), for many musical projects and different artists. During the pandemic period I had a great desire and also the time to decide to return to produce my tracks with a sound that has always influenced me, following only my instinct, and that would give me emotions.  The name of the song was extracted from the vocal hook phrase that contains a message that struck me, which in my case means come with me, I'll take you to my world.”

Come With Me opens the release with a pulsating Arps, hints of euphoria and atmospheric feeling covered with deep vocals and groovy percussion that give the track a dancing rhythms, closing the releasing is an intro track that builds the tension slowly and gives a hint to what it’s coming.

If there is an artist to watch, Dino Barretta is a top of the list for his unique kind of music and sound signature.

Fabio Florido began his imprint RUNA after his releases were homed by the likes of Minus, SCI+TEC, Second State, Mood & Plus 8. RUNA is generated by multiple experiences, carved by distant but close frequencies, transmuted into an intricate vision of Techno & Ambient music. The label’s name comes from an ancient civilization that lived in the Andean highlands of Peru since 2000BC. Their beliefs were that objects, places, and creatures all possess a distinct spiritual essence. 

‘Doorways’ contains 5 tracks spanning different realms, from the spacey ambient of the opening track that takes the EP's name, moving on to uplifting and groovy moods of "The Fifth", which then descends into more raw and hypnotic techno of "Arcturian". Following are the touching melodies and fast-rolling beats of "Alchemist", and closing with deeper and almost minimalist emotions is the track, “Dimension”.

Meanwhile, Joran kept working tirelessly to hone his craft in the studio. Inspired by the current wave of bare and heavy techno, he managed to create a new iteration of his sound. His stark and heavy, yet minimalistic, techno marks the resurgence of Joran van Pol.

Perhaps even more so than his production efforts, Joran has built quite the reputation when it comes to his DJ-sets. Starting his career at the infamous underground club Studio 80 in Amsterdam, he quickly transitioned to big venues and events like Awakenings, Dockyard, Tomorrowland, Fuse Brussels, Welcome To The Future, Loveland and Timewarp.
