This is my first pop cover, from earlier this year. I wanted to try something completely different this time - I wanted to cover a pop song I really loved. And that's when I thought: Keane! It's perfect for my style of music.

So I decided to look for inspiration, which I immediately found in the gorgeous, cinematic feel of Lana del Rey and Son Lux. The rest was adding that special "Rozen" touch -- a mesmerizing ambience that helps the listener to get immersed in the song.

I was lucky enough to find a vocalist the second I thought about arranging this track. This was actually the only track we both had as a common choice in a list we sent each other, with possible cover candidates. 

Pamy Lozano is a vocalist that sings in my church choir, so it was a good opportunity for her to show the world what she could do. Her light and soothing voice made it just the right choice to sing this cinematic ballad.

So, I want to dedicate this cover to the great band Keane for making one of my all-time favorite tracks, and to all their fans out there who are looking to hear a different exploration of this beautiful composition. Special dedication to my lovely and very talented fiancé, who always inspires me to become a better musician. This particular song reminds me of her, so you can be sure my whole heart was poured out through the song.

My latest entry in the 8-bit weeklies, and my favorite to date! This one was motivated by two things. 1 - I want orchestral black MIDI. a full orchestra playing black midi, with no shortcuts or time for such trifles as "good playability" or "good grammar". 2 - to show the versatility of the orchestra as a whole rather than winds + brass + strings + percussion, and after some arduous yet fun work, this should show all non-believers just how well the two work together.
