The recording is from a night at Ohm back in March put on by Kontinuum and New World Dysorder. I remember feeling so comfortable with the space and the crowd who were up for good sound system pushing fun going freely through everything from d&b and elektro to freetek and jungle. Also shoutout to Ohm for always providing a solid vinyl setup!

Coming towards the end of Summer is always a bit of a mixed bag -- the chill nights contain a morose of relaxed hangs, and at the same time that swinging undercurrent of a summer night wanes away. Alas, how do you capture all these transitions and feelings into words, into sound?

When I was thinking of a guest to chide us into this mode, Cyrus came to mind. We met at a musical gathering this year in July, both baking in the heat to tunes for 4 days and nights. From our marathon of sonics, we found a connection and I garnered that Cyrus is an extremely thoughtful person and listener, not that they aren't one in the same. 

Weaving from deep ambient, to experimental, chuggers, downtempo grooves, techno, this mix has it all. I imagine myself on a boat somewhere watching the water turn from darkness into light, a wave of sunrise peaking over the water. Heads are down but spirits are up. Like a good wooden rollercoaster, the thrills are earned and respected, maybe this is a weird analogy but I find it apt.
