Aaron Wright sings and writes songs, but he is no run-of-the-mill singer-songwriter. There is an adroitness here, a pop lightness of touch, that elevates him beyond the usual folk troubadour fare. He was born to a Canadian mother and Scottish father, and developed an early love for quintessentially American folk (Neil Young) and classic British pop (John Lennon's Beatles demos).

Growing up in a musical family, Jordan has always had a love for making and playing music, primarily drums. However, Jordan's proper musical journey started back in 2013 when he picked up the guitar and started writing and singing his own songs. He soon released his debut EP "I'm Free", which gained Jordan a local following, local air play, local newspaper write ups and gigs all over Dumfries & Galloway. At that time, he moved from his hometown of Dalbeattie up to Edinburgh to further pursue his music goals. The songs from that EP were written about the big move and all of the changes in his life at the time. 

Whilst living in Edinburgh and building up a busy gigging schedule, including support slots, festival slots, radio air play and a TV appearance on STV’s the Riverside show. He recorded his second acoustic EP "All Things Blue" at a small independent studio in Edinburgh. Jordan gigged this EP extensively throughout the Edinburgh fringe festival which brought him some attention which resulted in a trip to America in 2015 where he recorded his third EP "Pages" at studios in Kansas and on Nashville’s famous music row. After coming home Jordan continued to be increasingly busy with gigging and performing shows most nights, however with that his writing took a backseat as he enjoyed life playing music and building up a fanbase. Jordan has now played well over 1500 gigs across Edinburgh and further afield and has built a loyal following on his social media accounts. 

In June last year Jordan had a chance encounter with Lewis Capaldi whilst playing in a bar in Edinburgh. Lewis joined Jordan and his pianist and partner Hannah on stage to perform his global number 1 hit ‘Someone you loved’ to a packed-out bar. Jordan received a huge amount of recognition from the performance with viral videos, interviews with major social media accounts, national newspapers and radio stations. Since the performance Jordan has played many more gigs across the country and further afield including Europe. However, in March 2020, the whole world was forced to stay home and slow down. Gigs were cancelled and work was stopped. Seeing the opportunity this presented, Jordan decided to get working in the studio and began writing and recording again properly for the first time in 5 years. A few months on and his debut single "Bright Lights" made it to number 1 on the iTunes singer/songwriter chart, number 62 on the main iTunes chart and is also currently number 33 on the Official Scottish Chart - all done independently with fan base buying only.  This is set to be the first single from his latest EP which will be released early next year.
