From the dimming flicker of neon lights and thick clouds of cheap perfume, Beauty Queens emerged from a timeless slumber and strutted out of Cardiff’s forgotten underbelly in 2023. 

The duo, Seth Booth and Lacey Rouge, made their live debut that year before releasing their first single, Genuine Leather. Three more singles followed suit, including the groove-drenched Late-Night Menu, each one a love letter to the pair’s eclectic influences spanning the likes of the B-52s, XTC, The Cardigans, Hall & Oates, Ween, Steely Dan, and Royal Trux.

Beauty Queens’ sound evokes a glitter-slick collision of demented synth-pop, soft rock dirges, new-wave rhythms, and glam era cool, filtered through smeared memories of technicolour dreams from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s. Their live shows are half party, half séance, where audiences don’t just watch but eventually join the bubble-soaked cult of Seth ‘n’ Lacey.

In the world of Beauty Queens, the glitter never stops falling, the lipstick never rubs off and the boots are always shiny.

I am a multi-instrumentalist / producer and composer based in Cardiff, UK. I have been producing music for over 15 years and have professional experience with mixing, mastering and sound-design projects.
