The Assignment: Make music by processing a static sound.

Makenoise 0-Coast providing a static sound rich with overtones, manipulated live in a single take with the Arturia MS-20 filter, using only cutoff and resonance control.

D Is For [Disquiet0595 Filter Progression]

(Live) guitar and electronics. From the score to 'Ik Ben Weg' a theatre play by Het Toneel Speelt (dir. & wr. Ger Thijs). Accompaniement to the appareance of an angel like girl during a failed suïcide attempt by the main character. The girl later turns out to be his unknown daughter and this small phrase was used as her theme throughout the score.

Engel (Ik Ben Weg)

From the soundscape to part 4 of 'De Geschiedenis van de Familie Avenier' a theatre play by Het Toneel Speelt (wr. Maria Goos dir. Jaap Spijkers). Part 4 is the final episode of this historic 'marathon' play by Maria Goos, following a family from the 1950s to the first day of the new millennium. It is constructed around the memories of Rita, the great-grandmother of the family. In contrast to parts 1-3 this last installment was rather abstract and featured a full non-stop soundscape, as a sonic backdrop for the actors who were all miked. This is a very small excerpt from one of the scenes.

Annie (De Geschiedenis van de Familie Avenier 4) [EXCERPT]

From the score to 'Geslacht' a theatre play by Het Toneel Speelt (wr. Rob de Graaf dir. Ger Thijs). Rob de Graaf wrote a kind of " Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?' for the new millennium, a pitch dark play about two couples. After starting out in a completely different direction this production ended up with a minimalistic electronic score. This a short edit of a piece used for one of the final scenes.

More on this 429th weekly Disquiet Junto project — The Assignment: Record the first third of a trio that others will complete — 
This track is comprised of 3 guitar loops recorded using a  ditto looper pedal. I think a fourth loop does make a brief appearance during the mix for a brief time. The guitar was untuned and unused for a few years and I went with the sounds it was able to produce. 
My title is a pun on Poe's (or Corman's) Masque of the Red Death and the new phenomenon of people wearing masks whilst out in public.
Sorry I didn't do the panning but I'm sure anyone can download and shift it how they like to. Anything goes with this track for anyone's use / misuse sampling etc....

This is the second asynchronous collaboration within the Disquiet Junto project Solitary Ensembles x 2. The left channel of this track is Jorg @ Denzo's track for disquiet0429. In the right channel I tried to create a dialogue with this track using electromagnetic noise processed in the INA GRM Evolution device.
