Formed back in 2006 by Belgian DJ's Sam Rabam and Typsy Gypsy, the infamous Balkan Hotsteppers released trendsetting mixtapes on the internet. Combining modern beats with classical Balkan, gypsy and klezmer melodies and mashing it up with hip-hop, they soon became a standard in the evergrowing European BalkanBeats scene. 

Five years later they have played over 180 gigs at every major balkan party all over Europe: Belgium, France, Holland, Ireland, UK, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Romania, Turkey, Spain, Portugal...

LANKOLIA compte 3 membres qui se partagent claviers, guitares et chant. Notre projet consiste à composer plusieurs titres avec un seul objectif : vous proposer de la musique originale. Nous attachons beaucoup d'importance au son, encore une fois, au son original. Sur fond de mélancolie, nous nous exprimons sans limite et sans standards : la durée des titres, la structure des chansons, les associations d'instruments, etc. Tout est possible avec LANKOLIA, tant que le résultat nous plait, et nous espérons : vous plait !


LANKOLIA counts 3 members sharing keys, guitars and vocals. Our project consists to compose several songs with only one objective : propose original music. For us the sound is very important, the original sound that stays in the head. On a base of melancholie, we express ourselves without limits and without standards : the lenght of the songs, the structure, the association of instruments,... Everything is possible with LANKOLIA, as long as we like the result, and we hope : you like it too !
