What else can we say… one of the most charming DJs in the business. A musical ambassador and a veteran of acid house, a champion of techno, a dance music pioneer, label owner, King of Ibiza – you name it, Carl's been there and done it, never losing sight of his passions – playing music, breaking tunes, celebrating life, and more importantly, always playing the vibe on the dance floor and making people dance! This all was the perfect fit for the mission we embarked on 8 years ago; there are many amazing sound camps at Burning Man, but what we always tried to build and do different was to make DK all about the unique intimate vibe through the love vibrations that derived from the people that are willing to travel to the far side of the playa to party with us.

Those fortunate enough to have crawled through the tunnel into Funkingham Palace that night witnessed something truly unique. Carl Cox played a mesmeric selection of tunes that showed why he is THE superstar of both yesterday and today.

Having smashed it on Friday at Arcadia (b2b with Jamie Jones) and rocked out the Glade stage on Saturday afternoon the big man arrived as THE secret guest to top all secret guests.

This unannounced secret set at The Rabbit Hole's Funkingham Palace will go down in Pilton folklore as one of those magical Glastonbury moments....

Please treat your ears to this recording and let the fun echo even wider than the hallowed sun drench fields of Glastonbury 2019.

Taking its lead from the distinct musical styles at Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel’s two venues – The Club and The Tower – The Unexpected Sessions Vol. 1 brings you cutting edge dance music from across the spectrum; the first disc packed with pure, uplifting party anthems while the second drops the BPMs for a deep excursion through the very finest house music around.

On CD1 you’ll find some of the biggest names in EDM dropping hit after uplifting hit, including Alesso’s ‘Crash’, Hard Rock Sofa & Swanky Tunes ‘Here We Go’ and the huge Iban Reus remix of Todd Terry’s seminal ‘Jumping’. Also included are Dirty South & Deniz Koyu ‘Halo’ and Michael Woods ‘Platinum Chains’; a suitably epic finale to a mix that starts big and doesn’t let up for the duration.

The pace is brought down on CD2, with uber-stylish deep house very much the name of the game. The track list is no less impressive though; kicking off with Candi Staton ‘Hallelujah Anyway’ (Ashley Beedle’s Yardism Vocal) – arguably one of the most impressive deep house records of recent memory – the mix moves through cuts from house music royalty Solomon, Jamie Jones and Flashmob.
