2019 was a massive year for Leftwing : Kody. Last year they gained 13,000,000 streams from over 3,000,000 listeners, as well as entering Pete Tong's Essential Mix hall of fame to end an already incredible year.

Their single 'I Feel It' has cemented their place firmly within Toolroom. The single went onto achieve A-List support on BBC Radio 1 and we welcomed remixes from Special Request and Boston Bun. From Miami to London, from club to radio, this tune was huge. Fast forward to 2020 and the boys are back and what a return it is.

'Without You' is a euphoric, big room club banger which oozes class and emotion with sublime vocals from singer, song writer, Camden Cox. Her unique vocals add real character and depth to the track and this is another anthem in the making.

GW Harrison has established himself as one of the key residents of one of the UK's biggest events brands, ABODE. From being nominated as the best Emerging Artist by Darius Syrossian in 2016, to chart-topping releases such as 'When House Takes A Journey' and 'Spaceman', GW Harrison is arguably one of the most exciting new talents in the scene right now.

Berlin-based talents Mat.Joe have emerged to become key names within house music since making their debut back in 2012, with releases via some of dance music’s most respected labels including Repopulate Mars, Relief, Hottrax, Armada Subjekt and Off Recordings, plus notable collaborations with the likes of Sonny Fodera on Defected, Camelphat on elrow Music and Kevin Knapp. Following heavy support from label boss Danny Howard in both his DJ sets and via his BBC Radio 1 show, the duo now debut on his Nothing Else Matters imprint this April to deliver their latest single ‘Off Ma Mind’. Opening with Mat.Joe’s signature flow, fuelled by icy snares and a bouncing bassline, ‘Off Ma Mind’ combines 80’s influenced melodies with colourful, yet punchy vocals to reveal another powerful release on the imprint and an impressive label debut in the process from the duo.

‘T2’ marks the return of Toolroom’s collaboration concept album. 

‘T1’, released back in October 2015, was an album of new and exciting collabs from Toolroom’s roster at the time; celebrating our artists’ talents and challenging them creatively.  

At the height of lockdown in 2020, with our artists in isolation across the world, it felt like a good opportunity to bring back the series - and also help raise money for Covid-19 relief funds, with a percentage of profits going to charity. 

This time, we picked the collaborations totally at random. Drawn out of a hat by Mark Knight on a Facebook Live broadcast, 36 artists were paired up into 18 new studio partnerships.  Pairings like Amine Edge & DANCE and Maxinne; Alex Preston and Siege; Mat.Joe and Ben Remember; and Juliet Sikora and KC Lights, have resulted in the fusion of different styles, influences and ultimately an album of fresh and essential exclusive tracks. 

‘T2’ features 18 brand new tracks, with some out-of-the-box experiments and sure-fire bangers. Testament to the power of creation in isolation, and the unexpected magic of new collaborating artists at the top of their game.

Every now and then a record comes along that just commands your attention. This is one of those records! A demo that landed from a totally new artist, never released on Toolroom before with very little history as an act, his name is Crazy Fluke. A studio wizz from the UK who's taken this trying and challenging period that we are all experiencing at the moment and turned it into an engaging and poignant piece of electronic music.

A quirky tech house backing and these unmistakeable self-penned lyrics act as a clever observation of the current state of affairs we are experiencing across the world.

Mason delivers ‘Loosen Up’ on Toolroom this July as he reveals the first single from this forthcoming album, backed by a remix from Illyus & Barrientos.
Amsterdam-based DJ and producer Mason’s career has seen the Dutch native evolve his unique sound over twenty years, releasing material via a host of leading imprints including Island Records, Defected, Kittball, Skint and Sweat It Out, whilst playing playing sets in over fifty countries across the globe including at ADE, Tomorrowland and Space, Ibiza. Following the release of ‘The Get Down’ alongside ATFC on Toolroom’s recent ‘T2’ collaboration compilation, September welcomes fresh material on the label as he delivers the first single from his new album, ‘Frisky Biscuits'. The album follows two previous Mason long players and will feature a host of talented features and guests.
The first single ‘Loosen Up' showcases Mason’s irreverent, playful side and combines disco influenced vibes with subtle keys, infectious vocal hooks and refined percussion to create a smile inducing, sun-soaked production ready to take on the summer, whilst Illyus & Barrientos’ remix highlights the original’s vocal hooks with a blend of warped synths and a slick, driving bassline to shape up another impressive release on Toolroom.
