Welcome to the JoseiPopCast, hosted by Melissa and Hijiriko. This podcast was first conceived as a final project for a class at the University of Oregon, and has since then evolved into a hobby. Therefore, there will be an evolution in quality as time goes on. 
We intend to analyze traditional and modern ideas in Japan through the lens of pop culture, and how these ideas coexist, conflict, interact, and inspire each other. Regardless of how much knowledge you have of Japan or Japanese culture, this podcast is intended to be accessible to any listener.
