Josemar is a multi-disciplinary artist, filmmaker, and designer based between Tijuana, MX, and San Diego, CA. His creative work spans a diverse range of music styles, including post-punk, ambient, shoegaze, trip hop, and Jazz Noise. Beginning his journey in 2014 as a composer and lyricist with the post-punk band Some Kind of Lizard, he collaborated with Isaac Pillado, Cynthia Virgen, and Damian Fry on their 4-track Death of the Bower Bird (2017). He later joined Ethics as a guitarist, composer, and live performer, contributing to their 2019 album BRAIN. In 2022, Josemar released the solo single Este Momento, showcasing his evolving sound. He has collaborated with various composers and also creates music for movie soundtracks. Currently, he is working on an EP with Maite Soleno under the project name Dating Girl, and released their first track, Mariana, in early 2024.
