Almost 4 years ago my wife, Chas, and I embarked on a journey with our son Luke to the Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh, in hopes that we were over-reacting and thinking that something was wrong. After sitting through two hours of evaluations, we were given the grave news that Luke was on the autism spectrum and that the clinical psychologist was very sorry to deliver that news. 

We were told Luke would have many struggles in life, socially. He may never speak clearly, and would probably need assistance the rest of his life. 

Knowing our plans and expectations for him as his parents we were crushed. But, we knew our God was, and is bigger than autism. 

Today Luke still has some struggles at seven and a half, but through early intervention he is functioning well with other children, and loves to talk, sing, and perform! He is a blessing to us and many others and God is using him already to shine a light in this world. Please Check for autistic symptoms in your children and do not hesitate to seek intervention, the sooner the better. 

So without further ado, this song is about life's struggles, but a greater hope. Enjoy!
