“Something for your mind” ...

All vinyl mix partly inspired by Dolphin sets, in particular from a couple of Vibealite events (trainspotters will recognize which) so it’s safe to say it’s definitely on the trancier tip. There’s some tunes I haven’t heard in any other (Hardcore) mixes and of course a few classics thrown in for good measure. Mostly 96/97 records with a few older ones, as far back as ‘92 (if the rumor mentioned on Discogs is true). I feel like I should add a Disclaimer here just to say that there is some 45 button bashing but kept in the minus range so not quite as fast as they’ve appeared on some Producer/Scorpio sets. 

Hopefully that’s piqued your curiosity enough to warrant a listen and thanks in advance if you take the time to do so, always appreciate it.

Atoom Records label was created to release the tracks created by Artemis, a group of 6 people (3 French-speaking and 3 Swiss-German) that dates back to the good years of the 90’s underground scene. A first release (12'' vinyl) was released in 1995 (The Labyrinth, Flying Woman, Emerald), then in '96 (Age of Heret-X, Into The Crypt of Rays, Ecco's Journey) and in '98 (Inverted Humanism, Sky Puzzle), also in ‘94 their first unreleased tracks were created (Saphir, Helix, Elegia, The Locomotor, Dharmasala, Realize) then in ‘97 (Metalepsis). Distribution was also provided by the members and in the two language regions. The music was created in two studios, one in Biel, the other in Lausanne, Switzerland 🇨🇭 .

To veterans of 90's rave, Scott is no stranger, having had a string of releases to his name and a pioneer of the "Bouncy Scottish Techno" sound which you'll hear in this set. This is not only great rave music, but it's something quite different to the other types either hardcore, techno or happy bouncy vibes.  It was a route into gabber and all the much harder music, back in those days. From happy hardcore, to this style of music, to the Dutch imports. The people who made this music were influenced by people before them and around them, but they are true pioneers of a sound like no other.

This set brought a smile to so many party people at Bangface it just had to see the light of day.
