Emerging artist Candidate has hit the ground running after debuting on Hottrax in 2023 with ‘Sore Feet Society’ as part of the ‘Tripleution’ VA highlighting exciting global talent. Now, as the New Year kicks off, the Liverpool-based DJ/producer returns to Jones’ imprint with his first solo release on the label, ‘Sonic System’, featuring three dynamic groovers that highlight the EP’s hip-house influence.

Built on pure UK heat, ‘Make U Freak’ mixes high-energy beats, throbbing low-ends and commanding vocals, while ‘Rhythm Drop’ delivers a playful mix of chimes that spark a wave of nostalgia, complemented by turntable scratches and punchy rhythms that wrap around the heads-down feel.
