ancient castle stands still, surrounded by victorian buildings. uneven bricks make up their walls, they'd stand tall if faced by a tsunami. to enter the castle before was a death wish, now people drag their sneakers across the worn stone floors. the only requirement for entry: a name on a list.

she drank mouthwash before she kissed me she kept it in her mouth and spit it into mine then i walked up the worlds steepest road 

the rain is silent, a gentle mist perpetually dropping from the sky. it is silent save for the clicking of a flagpole and the occasional fire detector low on battery. the delicate hum of the ocean sits just above the ringing in my own ears. the silence makes it more prominent than its ever been before.
