This track was created purely by accident, inspired by a vibe I was feeling. While working with my drum machine, I was editing and slicing up my own samples when I inadvertently chopped up and rearranged a powerful bass line. I was also manipulating and recording some synth sounds, looping them, and managed to create a nice mix. I recorded a one-minute video jamming to it and became instantly hooked. Not wanting to lose the vibe, I quickly opened Logic and started recording directly to the master track. 

I listened to the recording the next morning and still liked it, so now I’m excited to share it with you. I'm new to sampling and don’t usually create drum and bass or break beats, but I tried to stay true to the genre while keeping the song ever-evolving for the listener. While bouncing this jam, I had a vivid memory unlocked in my mind from my younger days. A friend and I were driving home on a cold night after a jazz basketball game. A thick fog blanketed the valley, creating an eerie yet beautiful atmosphere. We could barely see on the freeway as the fog enveloped the lampposts, making everything look hyper-futuristic. In the other lane, we could see sirens flashing by. We were in awe of the scene and talked about it while making it home safely. This song captures that vibe perfectly.

Just a second version that I really too... I reckon human nature is easy to explain. either it’s driven by love, or it’s driven by hate, or most often: anything between. I also guess, love driven people tend to look for similarities between individuals, whereas hate driven people focus on differences. appetency towards friends vs appetency towards foes. that’s humans, just that easy, just that conflicting… 

anyway, here comes a song dedicated to something exclusively human. a very special kind of moment that connects all of us billions of times each day or rather night. a moment that should actually tell us how absurd hate is.

as usual, my vocal persona from suno challenged me with heaps of highly individual results and over a hundred of attempts made to end up in the trash.

hello friends, since I'm taking a break from german lyrics, I'd like to try something I know nothing about that will probably backfire: english lyrics (I wish I were just a fraction as talented as my fabulous friend terry reeves). 

I've chosen an instrumental piece I wrote 13 years ago as my very first upload to soundcloud under the name roth whyler. at the time, I had in mind the story of a woman who remembers the love of her life to whom she never confessed her feelings: her boyfriend's girlfriend. I had the machine create a playback based on my original piece as a test. after heaps of attempts, the result expressed such weird chaos of emotions that I left everything as it was. 

why bluegrass? because I just massively love the longing way of its dealing with 3/4 time.
