The Winter Long

Thick as a Brick is the fifth studio album by the British band Jethro Tull, released in 1972. The album is notable for only including one song, which spans the entire album. Thick as a Brick was deliberately crafted in the style of a concept album, as well as a "bombastic" and "over the top" parody of the then-prevalent vogue for concept albums. The original packaging, designed like a newspaper, claims the album to be a musical adaptation of an epic poem by Gerald Bostock a (fictional) 8-year-old genius, though the lyrics were actually written by the band's frontman, Ian Anderson. The album was a commercial and critical success and topped the US charts.
Thick as a Brick was considered by some to be Jethro Tull's first progressive rock offering, coming four years after the release of their first album (1968). The epic album is notable for its many musical themes, time signature changes and tempo shifts

Firstly being a song with traditional 6/4 signature, I redid the central section in 4/4 to add strength, same as with my previously posted song.

Also, I 'needed' to cut last quarter note out of the instrumental bridges and play them in 5/4.

After these artificialities, I tried a mild sound to please your ears ;)

This is a song we do at sing along at work and is a lot of fun to play.

There's a full moon tonight and it reminded me of this song we do at work with residents during the sing alongs.  It came out in 1909 on the vaudeville circuit, was written by Madden and Edwards and was later a big feature during the Ziegfeld Follies revues.

Some songs just set a mood and feeling.  It was written in 1964 by 
Gordon Lightfoot and released in 1966.  It has been recorded by 
many artist to include Bob Dylan and Elvis.  I really like Jerry
Reed's version.

An Original right from the very Heart and Soul of this Panhandle Poet and One Man Band.... Reflecting upon blissful times past when our Family would bask in the warmth of a comforting Campfire on gorgeous, chill Wisconsin Autumn Evenings. Actually, they jokingly referred to the campfires I built as more like raging Viking Funeral Pyres or Bonfires, but anyway.... Splendid, Loving Memories for sure. :D))) On occasion, songwriters hear a song in their head and feel it so deeply within their hearts, before even attempting to create or capture it somehow. This tune almost ran over me. Couldn't create a click track fast enough using BIAB, and then played along with my Martin Acoustic 000, and flavored it a little in the background with the Godin Electric. Hope it's enjoyed? Note to Self:  Build another Campfire soon on a Beach nearby!
