Bufo, based in Melbourne, Australia, is an artist, producer, DJ, and founder of Salkantay Records. Kicking off 2026 with a bang, his debut EP ‘Rebirth’ marks a bold new chapter in his sonic journey, signifying growth and evolution while showcasing a more energetic, hypnotic, and immersive techno experience across a year of forthcoming releases.

His early releases—including debut tracks ‘Jungle Walk’ and ‘Save You’ on UK label Diesel Recordings in collaboration with bass heavyweight Boydex, followed by ‘Lose Myself’ and ‘Samsara’ on Salkantay Records—showcase a mastery of atmospheric storytelling and deep emotional resonance. These works, alongside collaborations with standout vocalists and producers, have cemented Bufo’s reputation for crafting musical journeys that balance intensity with euphoria. 

His vision for Salkantay Records is devoted to electronic storytelling through deep emotional melodies, hypnotic grooves, and cinematic journeys. Salkantay Records aims to champion artists who push boundaries, craft immersive experiences, and blur the lines between genres.

Bufo’s music has resonated with audiences both internationally and across Australia. I'm Joel, AKA - BURRY, Like Burrrrr-eee😁

I have been involved in music basically my whole life and definitely need it everyday!
Have been mixing tunes for well over a decade, starting off around 2012. 
I have very different style and mostly play a mixture of House, Tech house, funky house, Acid and Melbourne bounce. The sweet spot for me is around 130BPM.

I grew up during the nightclub scene of the Melbourne bounce/Melbourne sound era 2010-2015. My inspirations and early motivations for DJ'ing are T-Rek, Boogs, Spacey Space, Mike Metro, Azmac, Jungle Jim, my cousin Lucas and Jayne Jet! Just to name a few !
There is just something that really fires my engine with this unique sound. It gives me goosebumps and my ears prick up soon as it's on, Very boppy, bouncey, funky, housey, out there and I just love to be different.

In my career I've mostly ran birthdays, engagements and weddings, but in my recent years I have really started to enjoy playing at the outdoor gigs, including - Paradise Plains gathering, Digital Hotdog, Acollectivefuture, Moksha Gathering, Broadfest 2025, Deluxe bar/nightclub, Party boat cruises Melbourne, Neuro rehab annual awards nights and plenty more private events. I might add that my most recent set was a record for me, driving over 10 hours ! It was one for the ages. Great fun!

My main aim here is to get everyone  up and about, by creating a fun atmosphere. When I start to see everyone smiling and dancing around words cannot describe how happy I feel. To create those moments, to make people feel good about themselves! It really is powerful. I've always been a bit different from the usual, I like to mix it up a bit with a few different types of genres to a fast-ish beat and thumping bassline. It's fun to be different!
I do this because I love it, I really do ! It's a huge passion of mine. My escape, when nothing else matters but that moment. Soak it up and enjoy!
