@dicky-trisco is one of the scene’s delight’s. Based in Scotland but always travelling, he has built up a worldwide fan base with his high energy releases and fun fueled party hard DJ sets packing in disco and house old and new with more than a sprinkling of Latin soul.

His latest release on his own File Under Disco label is the very aptly named Discoteca which features NYC party starter Ria Bird on the rather sultry vocals. Our premier from the release see’s Mexico’s production heavyweight @Hotmood step up on remix duties with delivering a throbbing slice of disco house which builds and morphs into a hands in the air piano driven gem.

After a much needed break, I'm pleased to say I'm back in the shack and cooking up musical delights for ya. This one is something I've been meaning to do for a while - this track would be a bit of a guilty pleasure if I was in any way guilty about liking it. It’s a banger… there's so many bits that I like in this tune and a few bits that I don't, so I've rebuilt it as an extended 7 minute monster. Lots of messing about with stems in here, and the end result is familiar, but kind of different. I hope you enjoy it - of course it's yours for free, sugar!

Happy 2025 to all the Idlers out there! We're back with our first mix missive of the year - and it's a doozy. When it comes to edit records, so much has already been done. These London-based boys decided to ditch the well-trod paths of Disco, Boogie & Soul to dive headfirst into the devil's maw that is American Rock & Country music, making some of the best we’d heard in awhile, subtly turning some of the stodgiest 60's & 70's shitkicker jams into glorious glitterball anthems. The fact that they're kickass DJ's to boot made this decision a no-brainer! Ladies & germs, please welcome to the Idle Cellars Mix Series stable - Flying Mojito Bros! These two fine gents were extremely gracious - if not eager! - to tackle the Idle Cellars brief and we all have hit the jackpot. Presenting "Americana Pacifica" - we would call it Balearica re-imagined through the lens of US AOR, soft rock, country and more. Accompanying the mix is this message from FMB:

Rugged, saline guitar jams and sea-smoothed rock – from really recent finds to long-cherished shoreline treasures once popped in our pockets for another day, another day. Well – yesterday's mañana has come. Reach for your nearest Idle Cellars cuvées, grab your grampa's corkscrew, hit the cove barefoot and let the 'super-space-age seventies' pass on by while we linger, carefree.

Edwyn will be playing a short acoustic set on Saturday 10th December afternoon as part of The Social / Caught By The River Christmas market at The Social, 5 Little Portland ST.  Free entry from 1pm – 6pm.
