He is a part of a.cepa-collective and a big Vinyl-Enthusiast enriched our latest gathering with synth sounds rooted in deep 80s... However is it absolutely no wonder, we've asked him afterwards for an exclusive mix tape!

Im Januar 2018 hat sich BINO zwei Plattenspieler und einen Mixer zugelegt. Seitdem verträumt er seine Zeit, auf der Suche nach schönen Klangaufnahmen, die er als Teil des a.cepa-Kollektivs auf selbstorganisierten Partys im Haus Mainusch der lokalen Szene tief ins Ohr bringt. Sein Musikspektrum erstreckt sich von schnellerem-, treibendem-, düsterem- und verbreaktem- Techno, über (NU-)Disco und Synth Wave mit kosmischen Melodien, bis hin zu den langsamen, verspielten und verbummelten Seiten der elektronischen Tanzmusik. In dieser Aufnahme lässt er durch Schallwellen euch den Synth-Regen auf der Haut spüren und begleitet euch dann in eine dunkle und warme Höhle. Wie immer wünschen wir und BINO allen Hörer*Innen eine angenehme Reise!

In retrospect, it's clear that Josh couldn't escape his destiny in electronic music. At 8 years old, he purchased his first record, a 45 of Sweet Dreams, and fell in love with the synthesized bass. Fast-forward to now, his DJ style is a polyamorous exploration of a genre-fluid relationship between house, disco, and techno.

Josh's love for music pushed him to learn guitar and trumpet, and he played in a funk band in college. At the same time, he started an electronic music radio show on 91.1 WSPN, and his record collection took off. In 1997, his friend Pete taught him to beat-match and mix records, and the duo founded Triple X Music to produce and promote large warehouse raves in upstate NY until 2001.

Josh then relocated to NYC and reconnected with his college friend Tom. They began a series of weekly outdoor daytime parties under the Williamsburg Bridge at Rock Star Bar. Josh and Tom also began collaborating to produce house and techno music under the name Colorful Language. You can hear more from Josh here: ffm.bio/josh2x
