About one year after our Vol. 2, clubs and dancing bars were closed again in France. This sad news made us decide to launch again our Edits series, slightly renaming it “Paradise edits”. Fortunately, the good contacts we made through the last year helped us pulling together this new compilation quite fast. First, we had the Brooklyn duo Fundido, part of Earth Beat crew, with whom we had been chatting for quite a while and talked many times about having an edit from then. Then, we asked Sputnik, a DJ from Moscow to join, as we were enchanted by his work for That’s A Steal and his release on Gop Tun records earlier this year. A few days later, Nicolas Kotowicz, another Russian artist, contacted us to share his edit and we thought he would be a perfect addition to the comp. Finally, Latane introduced us to Lloyd with a bunch of edits and we were very keen to include him too.
Here’s the result of their works and a few questions we asked them about their stories and their approach to edits.

Loose Connections 006 is here and this time round we've got French selector Timéo on board laying down an hour of baleric tinged grooves spanning across multiple genres all with warmth and a peaceful energy in mind. Timéo has been digging and djing over 10 years at this point and has supported the likes of Les Yeux Orange, Demuja and Camion Bazar to name a few! With countless mixes under his belt, Most noteably the Fandango crew, Music for Ears, CTW and Alter Disco this guy wears many hats, currently working as a Mental health carer, running a label and a mix series alongside a solid crew over in Rennes. Let the music take you away and free your mind!

Loose Connections 006 - TIMÉO

Born and raised by CBS/IntergalacticFM's database, LeonxLeon started his machine with several various on Red Laser Record (UK) from 2013 mixing acid, italo and disco influences, to later in 2015 release his own take of "Funk Makossa" on Cerrone's new EP. Playing live sets and DJing all around Paris & Europe with the infamous Les Yeux Orange crew, he released EP's on Mancunian inprint "Red Laser Disco" and Parisian label "Cracki records" in 2019 with "Rokanbo", dancefloor melting Acid-Zouk mixture.
In 2022 be ready for his new EP on Cracki Records, blending even more genres and sounds.

About Giorgio :
Italian electronic music producer, keyboards player and selector, born in Naples while the Holy Trinity was Maradona, Pino Daniele and Massimo Troisi. Well at least in the city.

After growing up playing keyboards and piano in several jazz-funk and fusion bands in the clubs and bars of Naples, in 2015 he moves to Geneva where he falls in love with the underground club scene and starts DJing around while working on music production.

After years of experimenting, in 2020 he puts together his first album "Palinuro Phonebox", which gets released by Horisontal Mambo, a label run by the Norwegian DJ Prins Thomas, who also remixes 3 tracks from the album for an EP released on Internasjonal Norway in 2021.

In 2022 "Chalet Miseno", an ideal follow up to his first album, gets released on Horisontal Mambo.

Sunni Selects: Soca & Calypso Special

In this 1992 obscurity George Biron produces a zoukkiller sizzling with emotion and energy. His near falsetto voice is soothing and perfectly accompanied by beautiful trumpets, female backing vocals and baselines. With some difficulty I managed to remove a particularly heinous siren that played throughout the track, completely ruining it in my opinion! My 10th edit - Hope you enjoy :)

Record loving selector DJ based in London (and formerly Edinburgh). I love sticking my head in crates and learning more about the amazing music that can be found across the world. 

I'm a bit of retro zouk specialist (checkout my zouk show on My Analog Journal for more) but also have a great interest in soca, highlife, makossa, PALOP music, bubblegum, kwaito, latin freestyle and beyond - I enjoy celebrating globally sourced groovy records to fill dancefloors, and deliver an experience that makes club goers smile while they move

My mission is to spread this wonderful music and the talented artists that contributed to its creation with as many as people as possible! 

I run a clubnight and reissue / edits label along with a few friends called “Discothèque Tropicale”. Music to bring the boogie, fill the floors and put smiles on faces! 

I do the programming for London based radio station LOOSE FM where I also run the radio shows ‘The Listening Bar’ & 'Musical Backpacking' focussing each show and the record digging on a specific genre, theme or area.
