The story of Antonio Pica is one that started a long time ago. It is a story of a boy with a passion for music like many, and a dream he has been pursuing for years. An Exciting, great adventure that continues. It is the story of a clubber who managed to get on to some of the most important consoles in the world. Born in 1991, Neapolitan, he is immediately swept away by an authentic sound involvement for electronica music. Figures such as Danny Tenaglia, Todd Terry, Frankie Knukles and Deep Dish were at the beginning a source of inspiration for the genesis of his style, Loco Dice, Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin, Luciano and Sven Vath completed that process, finally defining his artistic imprint.

Later, in more recent years, he began to become more and more passionate about Marco Carola, an artist who definitively captured all his artistic and musical attention. The passion for Marco Carola is authentic, a passion born many years ago when they were both part of the Orbeat Regeneration Funk party and that lasted until Marco Carola called him, in the summer of 2017, for Muisc On at Amnesia. His way of conceiving music is the perfect synthesis between the past, and present, the artists who have made the history of the global Club Culture, the result of a vigorous personality that translates into a sound full of energy and emotional force. Being still during a set of Antonio Pica is practically impossible.

Sampling iconic performance artist, club promoter and designer Leigh Bowery, James connects the expert dancefloor pressure he exacts each weekend as one of London’s best-loved club residents with the unapologetic, defiant legacy of a personal hero. None other than Peaches takes up the remix mantle for ‘Fist’, intertwining the provocations of two radical performers and connecting three generations of underground queer culture in one sonic menage a trois, perhaps the straight-up rudest club record in recent memory.

Number eighty three comes from a rising selector, Sydney/Eora born @pistaccio , who now resides in Melbourne/ Naarm.

I met Oren whilst playing on Skylab Radio as he has been helping out behind the scenes there. Beyond that he's been playing at various spots throughout the city, showing off a beautiful diversity of taste and impeccable dh'ing style.

This mix is a lovely blend of local sounds & abroad. A lighthearted, warm blend of house, techy notes, rolling percussion & more.

For @eliasmazian, music is a time capsule - a form of transport to somewhere safe and secluded away from every day worries. It is a way for the Dutchman with Moroccan roots to express his deepest emotions and connect the music of his childhood with contemporary sounds from around the world. He showcased this with us at Dekmantel Connects back in 2021 and always in the music he makes. 

He crafts a moody and atmospheric start to this week's podcast with melancholic melody over languid beats. There's then a slow shift to the dance floor before party-starting house jacks your body with plenty of hands-in-the-air pianos and ever more pumping basslines. It's a high-energy selection that wears its heart proudly on its sleeve.

It was a very full room so we went pretty party mode on this one.

Nightmares On Wax Boiler Room x Ballantine's Stay True Brazil DJ Set

Following their sold out show at Corsica Studios last night, we welcome Grandbrothers in Hour 2 who are Erol Sarp and Lukas Vogel. Together, they combine classical composition with modern, experimental production and sound design. Their debut album Dilation was recorded using a grand piano and a series of self-built electromechanical hammers, which were triggered to ‘play’ the piano, creating new and previously undiscovered sounds. On Oct 14 a remix EP of the debut album Dilation will be released on the label FILM. It contains reinterpretations from Djrum, FaltyDL, Portable Sunsets and Grand Optimist. They told us;
"The mix is a collection of recent favorites of us with no intention to stay in one style. It ended up being 59min, and we needed 60min - so the day before it was aired we recorded an improvised intro during a soundcheck in Dublin."
