The new dirtybird compilation is loaded with 11 great tunes I have been collecting for over 6 months. Most notably, the Shiba San "OKAY" record has absolutely been destroying every dance floor known to man. We have lots of big birds like Justin Martin, Catz ‘N Dogz & Justin Jay on this, plus a ton of great newcomers and friends making appearances.

The dirtybird BBQ was founded as a small get together in Golden Gate Park thirteen years ago. We've had the same core line-ups and even the same chef, Grillson, since the beginning.  But three years ago, the free party in the park got too big and our permit was pulled.  The city of San Francisco could no longer handle the amount of people showing up to the event.  

Ever since then we have been trying to think of way to bring back the vibe of the BBQ park party. This year we finally put together a team that is able to take the BBQ party all across North America and Europe. We will be starting in Miami and ending in San Francisco so make sure to come grill and chill with us sometime this year. This compilation is a celebration of the O.G. dirtybird BBQ vibe.   I hope you enjoy the music.

Omen (Claptone Remix) [feat. Sam Smith]

Drumcode has become a label synonymous with some of the most-cutting edge and forward-thinking techno over the last 20 years. Their artists include both emerging and established names, and one of those well recognised is Enrico Sangiuliano. Now announcing the very first concept album of his career.

The prolific Italian producer has been catapulted into the limelight after the runaway success of his past releases, and now Biomorph is born. 

A very special concept album designed to take the listener on a journey of evolution. A musical adaptation describing how biological and technological advances over numerous generations of time have all started from the same first step in our own biological journey.

Divided into 4 parts, Organisms opens with atmospheric tones, gradually blending complex textures and timbres to begin the evolutional process. The beginning of this section combines full sounding arrangements before stripping it all back to basics. From here it dissolves into the atmosphere. Organisms then progresses into a break-beat influenced, down tempo track using synths to add complexity to the straight, broken rhythms.

Galactic, futuristic elements are found in both tracks in Cosmic Forces. Upbeat, groovy, electronic synths resonate, before ‘Hidden T’ brings the tension to get things pumped up with stratospheric swirls and twirls to lay down one of the most mind meltingly deep drops.

Metamorphosis is mysterious, its opening beat is a deep and piercing tone that sends the listener into a sensory awareness of their surroundings before breaking into a fully charged, techno track, with Enrico’s trademark sounds and textures.

All evolution has an ending.

Two Probabilities shows the positive, starting out evocative and emotional, with a gentle harmony, gazing towards a ‘New Dawn’. On the other side of the spectrum lies the negative. This is influenced with a rhythm that articulates the beat of death, mathematical, cold and metallic in texture, it shows the unsustainability of its nature, with a hectic, anxious break beat influenced ending.

The digital version also features a bonus track; 'A Further Existence'.

Crosstown Rebels' Serge Devant graces rising Swiss label RADIANT with his infectious dancefloor-focused style via a driving remix of Fabio Aurea's new track  'Yini'. 

The Fabio Aurea original is pure Balearic deep groove bliss, glimmering with cosmic textures and captivating rhythm. Now Serge Devant flips the ballad into a rolling percussively-laced ballad, featuring warm bass, fluttering synths and a sensual vocal hook. With the sunny season on the horizon, the house cut is primed to make an impact on the dancefloor.

'Yini', which also features remixes by Armonica and Frederick Stone, is set for release March 15.

The correctly named Hottrax welcome Italian star Frank Storm for a brace of brilliant new grooves in ‘Body Crunch’.

Storm has really established himself in Ibiza as the founder of Unusual Suspects, a cult underground night that has been at Sankeys since 2015. The party has gone on to host events round the world while his own sound fuses deepness with minimal tech grooves and has landed on Hot Creations, Get Physical, Rawthentic, Celesta and Serialism amongst many others.

Up first here is ‘Body Crunch,’ a quick and slick track of deft drum programming, busy percussive details and late night energy that steps you off your feet. It’s a stripped back track but a hugely effective one that is brilliantly infectious.
On the flip, ‘Attenders’ is another masterfully minimal tune with involving loops of warm bass, sci-fi effects and watery chords that sink you deep into the supple groove.

These are two high class and superbly executed tracks from one of the scene’s finest.

● JOPLYN is a young and upcoming songwriter, piano player & vocalist from Berlin and her last electronica singles have already been remixed by electronic heavyweights such as Booka Shade, Robot Koch & HOSH.

● Her recent E.P. TOO MUCH HATE (check the mood video here of the focus track here: https://youtu.be/qFdTnLKKqsU) included 4 more electronic tracks focussing mainly on rhythmic uptempo tracks and deals with Joplyn’s observation of her generations’s fatigue and also the inclination towards negativity and hatred.

COMFORT (Florian Kruse Remix)
Fresh of his current club hit GOTLAND (Speicher/Kompakt) which has garnered worldwide support and hit the Beatport Top10 charts, Florian Kruse starts his remix for Joplyn’s COMFORT with a driving acid bassline that keeps evolving over the whole song. The hard but groovy techno beat enters the picture and Florian skillfully mixes some original bassline chops with his atmospheric pads while playing around with the vocals. This remix will surely find its lovers behind and in front of the DJ booth!

TOO MUCH HATE (Chi Thanh Remix)
Chi Thanh just remixed his buddy ROBOT KOCH alongside Ryan Davis (Nils Frahm) and Daniel Brandt (of BrandtBrauerFrick) and is steadily rising in the club circuit.
His remix is taking the shuffle-triplet beat a step harder and more clubby and adds weird 80s synths. The vocoder vocals only appear in the break one time before the playback erupts with some wild shoutouts and quirky drum breaks.

BROKE THOSE WALLS DOWN (HYBRO Remix)
Hybro is a relative newcomer on the scene and has only released a few singles so far. His superb remix starts out slowly with a low-pitched vocal and quickly flips around with a trap-future-chill hop beat that keeps things very groovy. Just when things are settling in, Hybro flips the script once again and the song turns into a solid discoid house banger with swirling pianos and moog basses thumping along.
