Solid Grooves unveil their 2022 'Ibiza Sampler' as Michael Bibi and PAWSA invite seven of the label's residents and regulars for a huge summer offering.

2022 is shaping up to be a year to remember for Solid Grooves as they celebrate ten years in style with a host of stand-out shows, including OFF Sonar and Kappa Futur, alongside recent appearances at Space Miami, Fabric and Printworks.

However, the crown jewel in the programming undeniably comes via their biggest Ibiza season to date. With a move to renowned institution DC10 backed by lineups stacked full of talent, the collective only adds to things on the label front as they reveal their latest summer compilation. Opening the season in style, the nine-track 'Ibiza Sampler' welcomes the arrival of a stacked V/A with fresh heat from close friends and ever-impressing regulars.

In usual fashion, co-founders Michael Bibi and PAWSA contribute a pair of heavily-requested signature cuts, alongside peak-time and after-hours anthems from residents Dennis Cruz, Eddy M, Reelow, Ramin Rezaie and Bassel Darwish, plus label signees Classmatic and JUST2.

Antss returns to Solid Grooves Raw for the third time with his latest single, 'Viral'.

A key home for rising talent across the globe, Solid Grooves' sister imprint Solid Grooves Raw continues to serve up heat from a long list of the scene's most promising names. Returning for his third release on the label following on from 'Stopp' and his collaboration 'Straight Up' alongside regular partner-in-crime ASH-R in 2021, London based DJ and producer Antss steps up with another big release as he unveils his new single 'Viral'.

Crafting a warping ride through spiralling synths, rolling drums and warped vocals, 'Viral' delivers a hazy yet weighty production suited for all hours of the night.

Ramin Rezaie returns to Solid Grooves Records with his punchy new single, 'Special Love'.

Crafting his own blend of clean-cut house music, Ramin Rezaie's releases across the main label and sister imprint Solid Grooves Raw have seen the Solid Grooves resident and label manager cement himself as a central artist within the brand's world-renowned family of artists. Fresh from releases on CUFF, Moan and his own Silky Records imprint, his return to the main label welcomes a big new single, unveiling the garage-tinged sonics of the shuffling 'Special Love' to open the summer schedule in style.

Building on snaking drum grooves and a bumping low-end bassline, the crisp and resonant 'Special Love' brings a fresh balance of house and garage influences to the fore as Rezaie delivers another impressive outing on the label.

Leeds grown DJ duo Audiojack return to DFTD with ‘Mover’, a two-track package demonstrating their unique club sound. Having met in Ibiza in the noughties, the northern house pioneers and Gruuv label bosses established themselves with a string of chart-topping releases and industry accolades in the years that followed, with their commanding work with vocalists setting them apart from the crowd. ‘Mover’ keeps the pair ahead of the curve as modern techno and house come together, accented by distinctly different timbres. The lead, an energetic club-cut, succeeds in keeping the dancefloor engaged with its notable bassline powering on, while ‘Coloursound’ plays with explosive pops and wobbly production against a backdrop of upbeat percussion, soulful vocals and static synths.

Rising newcomer Jholeyson makes a stunning debut on Hot Creations with Discow, a fantastic two track release that draws inspiration from an eclectic range of musical genres.

The 12” begins with the title track Discow. A high-tempo house number, tinny hi hats merge with whip-like kicks, as an infectious vocal gives way to a pumping, four-to-the-floor drop. Plenty rounds off the release in a minimal, pulsing fashion. A squeaking, electronic bassline couples with soft bloops and subtle keys, as soft build ups lead into gently-changing crescendos.

Jholeyson is beginning to make real waves in the scene. Having produced standout releases for the likes of Posh Records, Harvibal and 1994 Music, it was in 2018 that the young upstart launched his own imprint: Sticker Music. Fast forward a year and the Discow EP marks another strong milestone in Jholeyson’s ever-flourishing career.
