A song by Aimee Mann called 'deathly' came up in conversation while commenting on a song by @wheelwright (https://soundcloud.com/guiville/manners-ft-wheelwright} and his reply made me rethink not just "I'll Only Let You Down" but also the Aimee Mann song.

What it also did was let me re think a song I had about being stood up on a second date - Aimee Mann sang "Now that I've met you, Would you object to, Never seeing each other again" - this opened my eyes to maybe it wasn't just something I said or did - she just didn't want to start inevitability.

thinking further - she (Aimee mann) could have been being deeply sarcastic in an impermeable situation of confronting a narcissistic/misogynistic bastard.

who knows?

anyway, this one might be about the fear of beginning - rather than just fear of failing in the company of another lonely person, out of reach, in another lonely league.
