Adam Beyer has produced an incredibly strong EP. The first track on the EP, Eye Contact, uses rhythmic vocal stabs to give it an infectious rhythm and groove. The second track, Raspberry Cave, uses a melodic synth-line and pad to create a dark, absorbing roller. On the digital release, another further two tracks have been added. Salvage Dub uses a funky bass line and rhythmic chords to full effect to gain the club’s attention. Cosa Mira, rounds of the EP by using percussion to construct an energetic rhythm with the help of some dreamy stabs to create a moody characteristic.

Poker Flat Recordings has been dealing out underground house music with a unique twist since 1999; from the defining debut 'Loverboy' through the Bugnology series, acclaimed albums and worldwide club hits, Steve Bug's essential imprint has unearthed new talent, developed rising stars and welcomed veterans into the fold. 

Steve Bug's reputation as an exceptionally gifted DJ, producer and music connoisseur is about to carry the beloved imprint to its 15th anniversary, which will be celebrated with its finest collection of raw talent yet.

After shuttering his legendary Raw Elements-imprint (1995-1998), Steve Bug embarked on the defining label that would soon be considered as one of handful of the handful labels credited with moulding the sound of tech house and minimal house. 

Poker Flat Recordings arrived with a bang - the very first release named Double Action included the massive hit 'Loverboy' - and began to grow from strength to strength, gathering fans, critical and DJ support from the very outset.

Double Action was followed by a string of quality singles and EPs by Martin Landsky, Detroit Grand Pubahs, Berkson & What and Guido Schneider, plus defining longplay albums by Trentemøller, Märtini Brös, John Tejada, TJ King & Modular K and Donnacha Costello. 

The sub-labels Dessous, Audiomatique and Traffic Signs cemented the presence of the Poker Flat familia, and further refined the signature sounds of Vincenzo, Adultnapper, Phonique, and Steve's own alter ego Traffic Signs.

Fifteen years deep, and Poker Flat Recordings is still on top of its game. In celebration of this milestone, Steve Bug & co. plan to mark it in style, with a 15 Years Of Poker Flat digital compilation of 16 new exclusive, unreleased tracks and remixes by Josh Wink, Taylor, DJ Tennis & Mind Against, youANDme, Mark Henning, John Tejada, Joeski, Audiofly, Ejeca, Sebo K, Anaxander, Kindimmer, The Organ Grinder, Tom Flynn and more, taken from the Four Jacks series of EPs. Poker Flat's unwavering dedication to the finest underground house music is 15 years young, with absolutely no sign of slowing down.

A great philosopher (Samuel Johnson, not Ebeneezer Goode) once wrote… “our brightest blazes of gladness are commonly kindled by unexpected sparks”. While it would be a stretch to suggest the Drumcode artist roster are closet philosophy fans, once one begins to unravel the tale that led to Jel Ford remixing the 2012 Alan Fitzpatrick hit ‘For An Endless Night’ and it is impossible to escape the unexpected enterprise and spirit of surprise that are at the heart of this exciting collaboration. 

As fans of Adam Beyer’s label will testify, the two Drumcode names have more in common than just a label stable, they also share common ground with the peak-time melodic sound that has delivered many of the labels most memorable output. Ford being a much more recent addition than Fitzpatrick, whose history with the seminal Swedish imprint stretches back to 2009, however Ford’s history within techno goes back even further having released multiple EP’s through the early noughties on vintage UK techno labels including Dave Angel’s Rotation Records, Billy Nasty’s Tortured Records, Primate Recordings and Ford’s own Jericho imprint. 

It is within this shared passion for uplifting synths and big room melodies that the ‘unexpected spark’ of creativity that led to Ford remixing Fitzpatrick can be found. An long-time admirer of Fitzpatrick’s work, Ford had developed an idea for his alternative version and secretly worked on the remix long before any discussion of the project had taken place. Once given the draft version, Fitzpatrick immediately endorsed the remix, excited to have an updated version to breath new life into what had become a familiar staple of his sets for the past two years. Parts were swapped and the end result being the barnstorming end-of-night monster presented here. A track that will be familiar with many having been the subject of much social-media furor since it first surfaced back in Autumn 2014.
