COAST CONTRA - SPEECHLESS FREESTYLE

A classically trained pianist for 10 years as a child (and in between "boring" practice sessions), I used to enjoy coming up with the melodies of the various types of music I heard on the radio.  I had stopped attending formal lessons as a teenager, but was re-introduced to my own personal musicianship a few years ago when one of my best childhood friends introduced me to MTV Music Generator.

It was foreign to me, reading digital MIDI signals as opposed to actual musical notation, but I took to it quickly and would manipulate the preset beat and rhythm patterns, creating my own melodies on top of them.  Years later, after becoming a lover of many contrasting genres of music - from said classical to hip-hop to Latin/Caribbean as well as Electronic and Dub-step - I enjoy blending different rhythms, giving their traditional usage a new spin.
