Roast Beatz – Summer Mix 2021

What it do peeps? As the United Kingdom roll’s out of its lockdown like a sunburnt drunk from a Magaluf sun lounger, the DJ’s amongst us are left bewildered to the state of our careers, when and if gig life returns back to normality. 

It’s at this stage Roast Beatz who has been working tirelessly to build his label Cuttin’ It Fine, has decided to shift some focus onto the hard graft he’s been putting in streaming during our spell inside. 

Every Monday without fail, Mr Beatz hopped on the ones and twos to bring the masses the latest and greatest from hip hop to funk, mid tempo breaks to house, disco to drum and bass and everything in between.

This one-hour mix contains: Tracks, mixes, cuts and blends previously seen live on Twitch by the faithful and fresh Monday gang. It contains his own work, tracks only available via Patreons, live remixes, scratches, doubles and a whole lot of passion. So, please listen on as you’ll probably hear something new!

So.... I did an "all skateboard specific" based set for Tony Hawk's Demolition Radio on Sirius XM a while back. It has songs that are connected to him, or to skateboarding in some way... There were SO MANY tunes to pick from, I actually ended up putting together a whole second part that I still haven't played anywhere. I was planning on going back to his show for that one, so stand by... In the meantime, enjoy the commentary and music. Lastly, the picture you see is from a few weeks ago at Tony's Stand Up For Skateparks benefit. It is also the same event where Tony did a hand plant on my turntables, ha ha. In 2017 Shambhala was threatened by rapidly spreading forest fires. On the Forrest Stage, during my ELPHNT SET, I proclaimed it “a rain dance” in hopes to put the fires out. Many evacuated as word spread that the last day might not happen, but late into the night, after my set, it rained!

The mix you’re listening to is my WOLF SET from the Village Stage on that last day. At the end of my set, on my very last song “Feel the Love”, it started raining again! The timing was incredible. The mood was euphoric. 

Without a doubt, this was one of the most magical experiences I’d ever had DJ’ing. There are a few clips online that really help paint the picture of what you hear. 

Thanks to the Shambhala posse for always showing me so much love, shout out to Mother Nature and all the Wolves that got down with me that night!
