Since I was a young one I always enjoyed art, & the way music spoke to me when no one else did. My best friends are my playlists. My music is very deep that’s all I can really say. It all makes sense to everyone tho and if you like underground hip hop you’ll dig the way I put it all together. Most of the tracks with just myself in them were recorded on my old old iPhone at the time with a computer speaker, & SoundCloud app to record. I also used an old iPad for the beats. I’m Very creative a product of the 90’s. I love animals & anything that sparks my interest. Most importantly I love this planet we inhabit and appreciate every being and creature on this earth. You'll hear that in my music. Most of these tunes are great in depth and dialogue but lack in the audio department.. If I told you most of these were created from an IPhone you'd laugh. But it's true, most of them I created from a simple speaker, YouTube beats, and recorded them to the Soundcloud app. Some of you may recognize the instrumentals. I lived in Sacramento California for about 6 years & jump started the hip hop down there with a few local talents..Buffalo is my home but when I travel I show that Buffalove anywhere I go..I have a talent & I'm trying to make it more known over the microphone..I'm more an old school underground cat but I appreciate all music wether its Drake or The Doors..I'm very adaptable & when I'm doing what I do people know me as either the "Captain" "Tapeworm" or my stage name The "Basilisk" I also preformed at venues and did music live plenty of times & it's better than sex when people tell you Your amazing at what you do..My main goal is to influence as many people on this planet as possible..My musical influences are Guru, Kool Keith, Del the Funky Homosapien, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Mr Lif, El-p, Atmosphere, Immortal Technique, Rass Kass, Tech N9NE, Souls of Mischeif, The Pharcyde, Binary Star, Hieroglyphics, Casual, Tupac, Outkast, Dilated Peoples, The People Under The Stairs, Blackalicious, A Tribe Called Quest, Ice T, Ice Cube, Common, Saul Williams, Meth& Red Man, Eminem, Murs, Nas, Tupac, KRS One, Rakim, Awol One, Zion I, The Grouch, Evidence, Big Daddy Kane, Kool Moe Dee, Wu Tang, All the Big's = L, Pun & Notorious thats just a few. I can go on and on & that's just my hip hop influences. Lets see The Doors, Pearl Jam, Beck, Cake, Aerosmith, Allanis Morissette, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Queens of The Stoneage, System of A Down, Tool, NIN, Rage Against The Machine, The Deftones, Beatles, Gratefull Dead, 311, Sublime, Gorillaz, & basically anything that bloomed In the 90's.. I love all eras and genres except country. I definitely dig old classical Sinatra, Rat Pack, Billy Holiday, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis and that beautiful jazz era. Im done naming I promise ha ha but theres one moment of my career I'll never forget that I feel should be shared. I was out for drinks in the heart of my hometown in Downtown Buffalo & there were a few artists spitting freestyles in front of the bar..All shapes, sizes, and colors & I don't hate on any traits or race not that it matters but I walked into the cypher and tore apart the mainstream flow with conscious lyrics that changed the spirits of music in those 5 kids forever..They wouldn't let me leave without me giving them my number &info.. I will be doing this till I take my last breath because music to me is equivalent to sex..1 love to all and stay blessed... & open up your 3rd eye lens...sincerely The Basilisk
