At times the fact that DJs play other peoples´ music tends to fade into the background somewhat. Time to pay them hommage!

In the course of more than 15 years we have encountered a bunch of impressive artists.

It was and still is their music that has made our sets what they are. Some of them came to play at one or the other of our annual GRAND SPORTFEST events in Berlin.

Some musical connections have even evolved into long-standing friendships.
So the idea of kinking up with these special colleagues to create a compilation came easy and a while ago. And much later, finally here it is!

Eleven of our most cherished guest artists have contributed their own tracks to create this showcase.

We´re proud and grateful to be able to present the work of our friends and colleagues in this release!

Dora Pan is a nice melomaniac girl from Berlin we were interested in for a while. Her sound balancing somewhere under 118 bpm and between house, disco, a bit of post-punk, but she calls it artistic: "Acid Space Rock Habibi House Techno" or short "Desert House". Well...  why not?! Let's meet her for the next hour.

My Favorite Robot storms into 2019 with a fantastic EP from new recruits Concret & Strapontin, with remixes from Zombies in Miami, Olsvanger, Mijo and Future Feelings.

Belgian producer, visual artist and performer Strapontin brings post punk, downtempo and dark disco vibes to his music. He has released on the likes of Optimo, Nein and I’m A Cliche and is also part of various collectives as well as being a busy soundtrack composer. His singular style is showcased here on two fantastic new tracks that find him link with Trafico label boss and rising production star, Concret.

The opener ‘Abnegazione’ is a tripped out bit of cosmic deep disco. Spacious and absorbing, it has broad, painterly pads up top and more tight and menacing drums and hits below. Brilliantly muscular from start to finish, it is charismatic body music of the highest order. 

Remixing are the Zombies in Miami duo from Mexico, whose dark and energetic sounds come on labels like the cult Comeme. They flip it into something more uplifting, with bright hits and twinkling keys up top as the bassline chugs away beneath it all.

PREMIERE: Concret & Strapontin - Abnegazione (Zombies In Miami Remix) [My Favorite Robot]

Iro Aka are Carles Rocamora & David Iriarte who met back in years in Barcelona. They were joined through a love of DJing and a passion for all forms of music. 
When we talk about Barcelona, we talk about tapas, architecture, flamenco and electronic music. In recent years, Barcelona has become one of the leading cities in the electronic music industry taking a huge number of festivals and gigs from the best DJs and musicians of the planet. Iro Aka is clear product of fusion of cultures in this wonderful city. The guys are producing (soon they will release their first EP "Futur" alongside such cool men as are TAPAN and Anatolian Weapons, in my label Elephant Gait Music and which is already supported by Vladimir Ivkovic, Lena Willikens, Alexis Le Tan, Odopt, MR TC and some more finest figures of the scene) they are playing (paid attention people like Javi Redondo, Luis Costa and Playground Records djs in the name of few) and they are collecting music (this mix is clear evidence of this).
I was waiting for so long for this moment and now im very much happy to give a warm welcome to this very talented duo in the 44,100Hz Social Club.

This Story is based on the theory of "Cosmological Constant", the representation of the energy density that arises in the Einsteins general relativity equation. Sound cannot travel in this vacuum, if it all it does, it only takes a leap. This law in our space time was used as an inspiration and the lower end of acid frequencies (sub bass ranging from 90khz to 250 khz) was used for my transitions due to its hollow nature, just like vacuum energy.

You learned that there are genres.
Everything separated into categories with their own canon and rules: Major, minor, 4/4, 6/8, highs, lows, high head, butt end.
Techno here, Disco there. You learned that art and music are two different things. Visually auditory, audio-visual, optically acoustic, not to mention the surface feel.
Listen to me, look at me, touch me. But everything in that order please! You have learned that understanding takes you further.
Night / life, rhythm / dancing, substance / excess, water / holding out, sleep / rest, headache / not good.
But what would it be if all of that wasn't just right? If all of our knowledge is based on the mistake of having to put everything in relation? To classify it, to make it responsive.
What do we do with something that doesn't follow the rules of this logic? That is not based on 0 and 1 and therefore not bound to our binary systems? Is this all at once?
After all, what if the whole thing has no limits?

Oehlen on Gagosian and on his own label Magazine. He also
runs PNN and Schalen. His 4th album „Horizons“ as Popnoname is the very first long player to be released on Cologne based label Feines Tier.
