Self-styled ‘personal bass masseuse’ Dubesque returns to the Kneaded Pains label with two punchy and powerful cuts on the ‘Cloak & Dagger’ single.  The Austrian DJ/producer has been busy of late, firing out quality releases for labels such as Eats Everything & Andres Campo’s EI8HT imprint, Tiga’s Turbo Recordings and Arcane Music.

A thunderous production is accomplished on ‘Clock & Dagger’, as a prophetic vocal hook takes centre stage on this dynamic and thumping big room techno track.  Accompanying cut ‘Automatic’ utilises some rhythmic toms for added funk pressure, as incessant keys and vocal chops stab intently over a swinging groove.

When do you know you’ve made it as a DJ? DJ Minx shows us there isn’t one right answer, and that success might not just hit you one day. The Detroit native has ebbed and flowed with her career in a very non-linear fashion. Despite being a staple in the dance music scene for over three decades now, Minx didn’t fully commit herself to music full-time until just a couple years ago, a stark reminder that success can come at any point. With an exciting year coming up, including the release of a lot of new music, as well her own stage takeover at Detroit’s Movement Festival this May, Minx is poised to have her best year ever.
