Lisbon-based DJ and producer, Enchufada label head, Red Bull Music Academy alumnus and Buraka Som Sistema co-founder Branko is ready to embark on a whole new adventure. The renowned multifaceted artist went on a sonic journey around the world to connect with some of the most exciting music scenes our there, meeting and collaborating with a new generation of artists to create his debut solo album ‘Atlas’ (out on September 4th). After giving listeners a first taste of his exciting new work with Eventually, the globetrotting producer now invites you to listen to the new track Let Me Go (feat. Nonku Phiri & Mr. Carmack) as the album becomes available to pre-order on iTunes today.
 
If Eventually paired up compelling global club rhythms with indie vocals, Let Me Go (feat. Nonku Phiri & Mr. Carmack) further expands on this dynamic by allowing Branko’s trademark pop sensibilities to shine through his dancefloor-ready beats. After spending the day with the talented South African singer Nonku Phiri and L.A.-based producer Mr. Carmack at the Red Bull Studios in Cape Town, South Africa, Branko set out to translate this encounter into a song by pushing the limits of the kizomba offshoot we call zouk bass, introducing some much-needed R&B flavor to this thriving genre.
 
The story of this encounter is translated into an instrumental that reveals lush and dreamy synths dancing around a shuffling 90 BPM beat with an organic feel, built on Branko’s wide-ranging global influences and Mr. Carmack’s unique beatmaking skills, to which Nonku Phiri’s captivating Venda and English vocals add a level of depth and emotion that is further complemented by a bittersweet string arrangement (recorded at Red Bull Studios in New York) - with positively epic results.

What would happen if you lock up a bunch of producers and musicians from different backgrounds into a studio complex for several days and give them complete creative freedom to record whatever they like? 

This is the question that music label INI Movement asked themselves. They decided to set up an experiment in their own studio complex in Haarlem. They invited a varied group of artists consisting of several members of brass band Gallowstreet, Rilan & The Bombardiers, Umoja & Pitch Controller Mitch. 

Guests that stopped by include Freshy Jazz and members of The Mauskovic Dance Band. The above mentioned contributors have helped each other with their personal projects but have never recorded in such a 'supergroup jam session type setting' where there was no directive style to the project. It could be seen as a collaboration in the style of supergroups like Soulquarians, Native Tongue or Odd Future. 

The result is a blend of different genres where the styles, tastes & speciality of each contributor meet. This is displayed in the tracks 'Berimbao' and 'Crappy Samba' where Umoja, best known for their tropical tracks and edits, is backed up with live recorded brass sections by members of Gallowstreet. Or Pitch Controller Mitch 
(formerly known as DJ for the group Pete Philly & Perquisite) not only contributing as producer, but also experimenting with his own vocals on 'Give It To Ya' & ‘A Star Is Born’. Also Rilan (lead singer of Rilan & The Bombardiers) can be heard on several songs including ‘Put Yo Feet Up Off The Wall’ where he complements the Disco & Funk drenched track with his raw vocal appearance. 

The young and talented multi-instrumentalist Lucas van Ee (Saxophonist in the group Gallowstreet) showcases himself as an established producer in many of the productions. 

The Collaboration 
Just like the collaboration between producers & musicians, collaborations have also taken place in the creation of the artwork (Photography by INDVDU edited in collages by visual artist Harm van Ee) and the creation of three music videos to be released along the way (one of which displays choreography by international dance phenomenon Roche Apinsa). The name Birdhouse is drawn from the nickname of INI's studio complex where this all went down. We dub this album 'Birdhouse Sessions Vol. 1' as an ode to this beautiful place that allows us to share our passion and experience complete creative freedom. One Love.

XX▲N▲XX - Disappear

XX▲N▲XX are a Polish electronic music duo from Warsaw, formed in 2012. The band consists of Klaudia Szafrańska (vocals) and Michał Wasilewski a.k.a Lance Flare (instrumentals). 

Klaudia age 19 and Voo age 31 formed XXANAXX in 2012. Klaudia is originally from Konin, while Michał is from Szczytno. They've met in Warsaw. Klaudia after appearing in Polish edition of X Factor was looking for a producer and Lance Flare was in a search for a vocalist. Both needed just one meeting to decide they want to cooperate with each other.

They share the same interest in experimental electronic music. Their compositions are full of anologue sounds, deep bases, ambient reverbs and their beloved Roland TR 808 drums. This mixture combined with Klaudia's voice makes an unusual music experience that takes listener to a higher level of relaxation. The genres that they feel connected to is chillwave, witch house and electronica.

At this very moment the duo is working on their first LP, the first EP titled Disappear will be released in one of the Polish finest electronic labels U Know Me Records during the summer of 2013.
