Lynn originally sang with the Bo Weevils, a folk-rock group based in Merseyside in the mid-late Sixties. Martin Craig played guitar & sang harmony vocals. 

Reformed as the harmony duo MG & Lynnette in 1991, Lynn & Martin performed their 'Acoustic Roots Of Rock'n'Roll' live set at a huge variety of venues; both traditional pubs & clubs and at care homes, prisons and festivals. 

In 2007, Lynn brought out her 'labour of love' nod to the Bo-Weevils album; mainly made up of traditional songs she sang with that band in the 1960s.

In 2010, Lynn released an album of some of her favourite covers, called 'Off-Grid'. This reflected the fact that the duo had moved to a former shepherd's bothy in a remote part of Scotland which had no mains electricity, gas or water services. Recording & mixing was carried out in their cottage using a generator to power the equipment.

In September, 2014 Martin remastered many of the Rock'n'Roll tracks they recorded in the 1990s as MG & Lynnette. Twenty of these songs are being released in the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand & Japan & other territories as 'Acoustic Roots Of Rock'n'Roll Vol 1' by The Border Rebels. 

(This latest release currently excludes the USA, Canada, Mexico, India & Pakistan, due to those countries' complex systems of collecting composers' royalties.)

Mimi O'Malley decided at the age of 3 that she wanted to learn how to play Saxophone whilst listening to Stevie Wonder on her Dad's record player. Skipping forward a while, after spending a lot of time in pubs playing Irish Music, and working hard through her Clarinet and Saxophone grades she gained a place at the prestigious Chethams School of Music in Manchester where she studied under James Muirhead (Halle Orchestra), and JoAnna Patton (Liverpool Philharmonic). She spent years playing every genre under the sun, in all the ensembles you can imagine, touring all over the world with various bands and now lives in Saltburn by the Sea on the North East Coast where she writes her own songs, and performs. If you want to bring it down to a common denominator it would be music. The diverse activities of Swiss sound artist Cyrill Lim range from installations in gallery spaces, art and music performances to compositions in the contemporary and experimental music scene, live recordings of classical music or studio pop productions and songwriting.

The latter – being more of a hobby – gained more center stage after the release of his first album "" (untitled, erdkugel recordings 2015), which is physically only available as vinyl. Since digital distribution systems do not allow an untitled work, the album was published digitally in form of two EPs (side A and side B of the vinyl) with the titles "☼" and "☃" .

New releases followed in 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2023 including collaborations with Serbian singer and author Ana Avramov and a remix for the track Heimat (2022, October House Records), recorded by experimental music duo Hyper Duo.

His latest series of songs always consists of pairs. They have the same colour in their artwork and complement each other but are also connected to the last and next pair of songs.

The latest release, Arise (2023, CLS records), the second of the second pair of songs, was just released on July 15th.

Cyrill's songs are best described as melancholic, soft and gentle sounds and melodies that tell of longing and the desire for solitude, usually garnished with a pinch of hope.

Martin & Lynn's first band was the Bo-Weevils, a early UK folk-rock outfit based on Merseyside in the mid-late 1960s. They played a mixture of British & American folk tunes (Leadbelly was a favourite!) together with songs by artists such as Carolyn Hester & Bob Dylan. Lynn was the main vocalist; Martin played guitar & sang harmonies.

Between 1970 & 1981, Martin was in Rock'n'Roll bands such as the Hot Rod Gang, The Sabrejets (who were signed to Blueport Music & achieved success in several countries) and Diesel & the Firebirds.

In 1991, the area Martin worked in suffered large-scale rioting. During the week of the riots, Lynn suggested that they sing through some of their favourite Rock'n'Roll songs to drive away the 'post-riot blues' and keep their spirits up during that stressful time. This evolved into the duo 'MG & Lynnette', who played many gigs in both the traditional pub/club venues in the North-East of England and venues and many care homes, prison and festivals.

Recordings made at that time are only now being released in 2014, on the 20-track album 'Acoustic Roots of Rock'n'Roll.

Martin has also supported Lynn's solo work on guitar, with her traditional album 'Greenwood Side' (based on her Bo-Weevils repertoire & released in 2007) and her covers album, 'Off-Grid' (released in 2011).



Vintage rocker with a background in community activism as well as music. I ran a music & songwriting group in a prison for 13 years; I play guitar for solo singer Lynn Craig and I'm currently rehearsing for a new music project in the Scottish Borders. Some of my newer songs seem to be getting increasingly political - blame the politicians for that!

The Daintees’ critically acclaimed 1986 debut BOAT TO BOLIVIA opened up an always interesting story. It showcased Stephenson’s songwriting, poetic romanticism and spiritual depth – so marking him out as a soulful cream of the leftfield crop during the self-obsessed 1980s.

Never pandering to a particular scene, Stephenson’s lightness of touch on a varied mix of musical styles was immediately apparent. His path was destined to be a lifelong journey through the music he loved: folk, ragtime, jazz, rockabilly, show tunes, punk-pop and country.

CALIFORNIA STAR continues his tradition for eclectic roots songwriting, and is the perfect middle-age bookend on a discography now amounting to 40 albums.
