Psst.. Es gibt wieder eine neue Dreiradfahrt!
Wir freuen uns riesig euch endlich diese Episode vorzustellen und @manucho_arevalo  auf unserem klapprigen Gefährt willkommen zu heißen! Und als hätte er sich nie auf etwas anderem fortbewegt, meistert er jegliche Kurve und Strecke mit bravur! 
Das Ganze war schon länger in Planung, jedoch musste es leider durch verschiedene Umstände immer wieder nach hinten verschoben werden. Umso schöner, dass es heute soweit ist! Denn Manucho ist unter Anderem ein großer Beweggrund gewesen, dass wir überhaupt angefangen haben in die langsameren Sphären der elektronischen Musik einzutauchen. Schon so viele Stunden haben wir mit seinem wunderbaren Output verbracht - dazu getanzt, gelacht und gemütlich angestoßen! Aber wer seine Musik kennt, weiß bestimmt wovon wir reden. 
Manucho, vielen Dank für diese schöne Rundfahrt! Es ist uns eine Freude, dich in unserer Dreiradfahrt-Reihe begrüßen zu dürfen <3

Today we are super happy and excited to welcome none other than Manucho as a part of our series. It was planned for a long time, and now it finally is here and we couldn’t be more excited!
He is one of the main reasons we started looking more and more into the slow spheres of electronic music after all!

This Set was recorded to show the various and beautiful colors of slow motion music. SlowMotion or Downbeat is not a music that gets divided into genres like deep and tech house just because one is a few BPM faster or a bit more percussive / less melodic than the other. In Slow Motion they can coexist bound together by their free groove and atmosphere.
This is also a little tribute to @lotte-ahoi s sloth disco sets, which heavily inspired me when discovering this kind of electronic music :)
Also a huge thanks to klangextase for giving me the opportunity to record a podcast for their amazing community!

At some point the mix kind of seemed like one of those things that i wouldnt stop changing, based solely on the fact that i'm always waiting for new music and ways to improve the mix. This however was turning out to be an endless cycle. Yesterday i decided to finish it just as it is. Hopefully it made the right call :)

Mia Caught LO-FIs Attention with her warm debonair and kind nature, and after hearing her play a polished set at WALL TO WALL we were astounded to hear she has only been spinning for 9 months.

Mia's introduction to music was by her parents, being taken to festivals at an early age and being spoonfed Jazz, folk and more these influences brewed inside her mind.
Discovering the track Muse by Nicolas Jaar was the lightbulb moment and the first steps to electronic music enlightenment were taken.
Her quest took her to Europe where the chill stages of festivals was her education.

Mia has drawn inspiration from the likes off  Nicolaas Jaar, Clever Austin, Lui Mufata, Nils Frahm, Nikosh, Gary Clark Jr, Four Tet, Gidge, Lee Jones, Stimming, Arutani, Billy Caso,  Satori, Lemonella, flowers on monday, Groove Armada, Landhouse, Gaudi, Bado, Jean du Voyage... and from this her sound carries a warm emotion, with hints of melancholy.

Embedding herself in the Auckland underground scene it is her enthusiasm to organise events and lend a hand to those that need it that make her a pleasure to be around and her ease at weaving a soundscape makes her one to watch.

In her short career she has already played stellar sets at kiwi Burn and splore... and is becoming a regular on Auckland lineups.

For this mix Mia has put together a deep emotive offering..In her own words...

I spent sometime trying to make the playlist and have the mix be certain way but nothing felt like it was flowing with ease, so i ended  totally surrendering what it would sound like and just played for fun and myself dancing and moving and having a good ol time and that’s the recording I ended up with. Unplanned and just an extension of what i was feeling when I created it.  I think its good to have an outline but when we create with restrictions over what we are feeling in the moment it is harder to enjoy the recording experience. So taking a breath and tuning in to what I’m feeling in the moment is the approach that works for me.

Mia Kober : LO-FI Presents EXPLORATIONS 22

born in the fabulous year of 1972 in south west of france.
Passionated by all sounds since child (always berlin in first ! kraftwerk , nitzer ebb...& also london or paris or US house & rap) 
I became a vinyles dj in 1992 in nature , forests, private parties. Educated by Dj Nerate (UK) from famous Spiral Tribe team, i'm  proud to have been a part of these first influences @ early times of techno movement in france with very small audience (but high quality^^^ones  at the beginning , playing house, hardhouse, techno, hard techno, trance , psytrance... sharing the sound in thailand koh phan gan (92 to 95) & goa beaches (92 to 97) , jungle or breakbeat, during 10 years
After a break of 20 years..I came back on the desks , that time on digital materials from summer 2022 & at 50 years old..(!!) 
I like to improvise with all the avalanche of new stuff that i hunt & receive  each day from some precious friends.
Downtempo or midtempo (even high tempo), house, slowhouse, deephouse, hip house, electronic , deep beats,psytrance or chillhouse & even sometimes with melodic or else .
My singularity is to play without headphones most of time (it guaranty for me the essence of the energy of improvisation..)
My eclectic knowledge & my singular way to mix make my personnality , groovy & Deep most of time.
