One of the basic functions of electronic music is to create a stimulus and generate a response. Without this nothing makes sense. That's why Joton in this new EP intends to use his characteristic techno sound to provoke in electronic music lovers a strong response, without half measures, without filters, without prefabricated tricks. "Stimulus and Response" is composed by 4 tracks that compose a journey that moves away from the linear path and proposes a constant roller coaster of emotions.   

"Moving Forward, Not Back" - Joton Ft. Zaid was created during one of Joton's online production courses and is a clear example of the possibilities of collaborative work between teacher and student, achieving a perfect symbiosis and coordination.

"Angry Is Easier" is an example of forceful techno, hard, without concessions, that looks for the purity of the sound without half measures. 

 "Iquique" was made during a group course in the city of Iquique in Chile, during Joton's last tour in South America 2 months ago. A sample of the power of improvisation, of how in a matter of seconds you can compose a piece that gives off an unusual freshness.

"All That Glitters" stands out for its forcefulness, a strong proposal, a direct sound designed to blow up the danceflor. It is an off beat track, a perfect tool for the mix, with percussive elements that flow unbound through the stereo.

Una de las funciones básicas de la música electrónica es crear un estímulo y generar una respuesta. Sin esto nada tiene sentido. Por eso Joton en este nuevo EP pretende utilizar su característico sonido techno para provocar en los amantes de la electrónica una respuesta contundente, sin medias tintas, sin filtros, sin trucos prefabricados. “Stimulus and Response” está compuesto por 4 tracks que componen un viaje que se aleja del camino lineal y propone una constante montaña rusa de emociones.   

“Moving Forward, Not Back - Joton Ft. Zaid “ fue creado durante uno de los cursos de producción online de Joton y es una muestra clara de las posibilidades del trabajo colaborativo entre maestro y alumno, logrando una simbiosis y coordinación perfecta.

“ Angry Is Easier “ es un ejemplo de techno contundente, duro, sin concesiones, que busca la pureza del sonido sin medias tintas. 

“ Iquique “ fue realizado durante un curso presencial grupal en la ciudad de Iquique en Chile, durante la última gira de Joton por Sudamérica hace 2 meses. Una muestra del poder de la improvisación, de cómo en cuestión de segundos se puede componer una pieza que desprende una frescura inusual.

“ All That Glitters “ destaca por su contundencia, una propuesta fuerte, un sonido directo diseñado para reventar la pista. Se trata de un track off beat, una herramienta perfecta para la mezcla, con elementos de percusión que fluyen sin ataduras por el estéreo.

“Inverted Collapse” by JOTON explores the forbidden geometry of the cosmos , where gravity spits instead of swallows, and time itself rots at the edges of reality. Inspired by the hypothetical phenomenon of white holes, this release channels a dark, mechanical energy, pushing techno into a space where decay, expulsion, and reversal converge. Five tracks carved from antimatter and silence, designed to confront the void and come out burning.

As the founder of Newrhythmic Records, Joton has championed the work of countless national and international artists for over 20 years. Joton’s global reach as a DJ has taken him to over 30 countries, where he has performed on some of the world’s most iconic stages.

A prolific artist, Joton's work has been showcased on renowned labels including Illegal Alien, Fabric, Modularz, Symbolism, Planet Rhythm, Raw Raw, Dynamic Reflection, Quartz, Odd Even, and Skryptöm. His tracks have garnered support from legendary figures such as Ben Klock, DVS1, Rødhåd, Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Surgeon, Truncate, and Go Hiyama.

In 2015, Joton released his debut album, Casting Out Nines, to critical acclaim, presenting it across ten countries on three continents. Two years later, he embraced his analog roots with the album R3silient. 2018 saw the release of Antioquia on Odd Even and Extreme Measures on RAW RAW, further solidifying his reputation as a leading figure in techno. His most recent album, Hikikomori (2021), was born out of his interactive production courses, reflecting themes of isolation during the pandemic.

In addition to his production and performance work, Joton is a respected educator. Since 2010, he has shared his knowledge through collaborations with leading brands like Arturia, Parallel Festival, Microfusa, Intec and The Bass Valley, as well as international institutions such as Beatworx Academy in India.

Joton’s performances have left an indelible mark on some of the world’s most celebrated venues, including  Tresorin Berlin, REX in Paris, Basement in New York, Corsica Studios in London, Grelle Forelle in Vienna, Propagandain Moscow, Dommune in Tokyo, Vault Sessions in Amsterdam, Tunnel in Pereira, Razzmatazz in Barcelona, Garein Porto, Infra in Boston, Under Club in Buenos Aires, Drugstore in Belgrade, Fabrik in Madrid, Technosnobs in Phoenix, among others.
