We are kicking off 2022 with a special 2hr episode on the MindTrip Podcast by Slight Function. The duo introduced itself to our MindTrip world last month with their track ‘Mistaken Identity’ released on Mutable Minds V compilation. Slight Function was created in 2020 and is a completely new project between the German Krenzlin and the Argentinian Rhombic. Their debut release came out as 12" vinyl at 770-output on February 2021 and their sound can be identified as dark, straight, raw techno. Benales is a DJ and producer known for his unique blend of raw, dark, and deep techno and house, with nods to Detroit influences. Based in France, he has been making waves in the underground techno scene since the late 90s. With an extensive vinyl collection and a talent for selecting tracks that resonate with crowds, Benales has become a respected DJ in Europe, regularly playing at top clubs such as Tresor, Rex Club, Radion or Le Sucre, and sharing the stage with renowned artists such as DVS1, Zadig, Surgeon, Steve Bicknell, Dj Pete, and James Ruskin.

Aside from his skills behind the decks, Benales is also a gifted music producer. He has released several EPs and remixes on acclaimed labels such as Sino (Technasia label), KEY Vinyl (Freddy K label), Mitsubasa, Analog Solutions, Knotweed, Diffuse Reality, and more. In addition, he is a signed artist on Construct Re- Form label, with several releases on the horizon, including a VA on KS R, CRF, Matterwave, and S.lab.

Benales's talent for music production has earned him international recognition, especially for his releases "Elements part 1 & part 2". His unique style and skills as a DJ and producer have cemented his status as a respected figure in the underground techno community, known for his powerful and unforgettable sets.

Finnish techno veteran Orion returns to the controls of his own imprint with Particles, a masterclass in textural sound design and monochromatic functionalism. 
The three-track release explores the hazy intersection between driving rhythm and atmospheric density, delivering precision tools for the darker hours of the floor.

Opening the EP, "Dust" establishes a propulsive momentum, layering opaque, billowing chords over a tight, rolling low-end foundation. 
The energy shifts into a grittier terrain with "Smoke," where granular distortion and static-laden percussion create a raw, cyclical groove that remains fiercely hypnotic. 
Closing the release, "Mist" offers a vaporous, dub-infused interpretation, utilizing subtle modulations and deep-focus spatial effects to drift over a relentless, skeletal kick drum.
