I spent over 2 months on this, and I could spend several more months making it better, but this was the deadline.

I'm very happy with how the guitar tone and drums turned out, though, considering I used Superior Drummer 3 for the drums, and a $200 HSS Squier Stratocaster with all digital plugins, no physical gear beyond the interface.

Emulating a real drum performance with Superior Drummer 3 took about a month. There was a crazy amount of tempo changes, and sometimes the nudge function wasn't precise enough.

Vocals could be better, but hey, I'm not Serj, and I had a week to do them.

I didn't make a video last league, so I had 6 months to work on this. I wanted to get as close to the original as possible, but with a few caveats: My vocals, no excessive processing on the vocals, actual bass, different drums, and add a guitar. Everything else, I tried to get as close as possible. There are a TON of hard-to-hear background instruments that really pull their weight here.

My favorite parts are the sound effects (after "beep" and "sunt iarăși eu"), which are actually highly-manipulated Chrono Trigger samples, the fuzz on the bass, and the slightly-modified pad arpeggios.

I was bored so I spent like 7 hours making this. I really like this song. I tried to get the piano to sound as much like the guitar as possible, and I think I got as close as I'll ever get. Some of the timings are off because the original song has an inconsistent tempo and I had trouble syncing the two.

Made using Reaper, an Audien evo 4 interface, a Fender Lead 3, an eldritch combination of guitar plugins, a Mako Traditionals TPB-2 Bass, an SM7B microphone, and Superior Drummer 3.

It took me over a year, mostly because I'm not good at playing the guitar, and I mostly recorded the vocals during the sporadic singing lessons I was taking.

I could have continued to improve it, but I already spent far too much time on it, and Path of Exile 2 comes out soon, and I wanted to get my most important Path of Exile 1 video out first.

From a Nintendo DS game very close to my heart, "Drawn to Life." This is the theme that plays in the first level, modified slightly. The timing was really hard to get right -- I worked on this over several months.

Mick Gordon showed how to make the "white noise ring-modded sine wave" DOOM synth, so I wanted to use that.

I don't have explicit written permission to use the game sounds, so this can't be classified as "royalty-free." You would need permission to use the game sounds in your work as well, which may be strict outside of videos/streams of Path of Exile.
