(From On the Line EP - 2020) Crossword is one I wrote when I was feeling distant from someone. One of those no contact types of periods of time. And the main thing I felt was pressure to be real because not being honest with my feelings might have been a cause of that separation. So, if being real is what's needed then I will finally acknowledge I have some things to say and start to speak from the heart. This song is like that very acknowledgement. And if we were to ever speak again I would hope we both feel the same. Hopefully that comes across in this song!

Crossword

(From On the Line EP - 2020) This one is a favorite of mine. I really felt like I was starting to tap into my own voice and style with production and the approach to the vocals, especially since there is no true chorus in the song haha. It was a way for me to sing about that initial moment of meeting someone and being so drawn to who they are but with the approach that references needing courage (lion reference). Definitely what so many songs are about, but just my own point of view.

(From On the Line EP - 2020) Sweet and Lime was a way for me to play around with sound. I had this loop that felt good and like an opportunity to be whimsical. The song really plays with the idea of sweet and fresh new love with the hope that it won't go sour.

(From On the Line EP - 2020) There was a time for me where I felt like I was living a fantasy that I couldn't say out loud. This was a way for me to try to express the love I felt and the production helped add to the fantasy-like atmosphere. It was my way of saying how when I'm with you, my heartbeat is at its best. You are my heartbeat.

Heartbreak Things

This is the very first song I actually officially released (2018). Recorded in my car in the middle of the night and early mornings to minimize noise and was super thankful it even came together at all. I wanted to sing something simple and try my hand at making a cohesive song that felt good. The production was meant to be minimal with feel-good moments in the hook and through vocal melodies. I also wanted to add Korean in the second verse for fun and as appreciation for the language, influenced by my exposure to Korean culture via many friends and community members who are of Korean heritage. With the help of some of those friends, that was added as well. I tried my best with the pronunciation though not perfect. Definitely brings back memories I'll never forget. Hope you enjoy it!

Wish

(Song released in 2019) For this song I wanted to try for a fun yet low-key type of vibe. The type of song that could play at the beginning of a vacation movie scene or a fun party moment, transitional scene, etc. A simple, fun vibe. 

HighLight

I have been trying to find the words to say and I'm not sure I've found them. Four years ago I wrote a song hoping there wouldn't come a time when it was relevant again. Yet here we are. Though we, myself and LiftOff, tried, it was never perfected. But I hope the message resonates. 

To the families of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor, we grieve with you and pray for you. 

Love and justice, hope, peace and safety are what I hope for all of us.
