After a very successful week of events at 2011’s SXSW, Paper Garden is expanding its reach even further with 2012’s SXSW. With 4 day parties lined up showcasing 30+ bands, we have established a solid week of events featuring extraordinary talent from across the world. On top of the diverse and exciting group of bands that Paper Garden is bringing in directly, we are also partnering with a different music blog for each day (Pigeons & Planes, My Old Kentucky Blog, The Wild Honey Pie) to co-curate over 30 of today’s most hype-worthy bands.

Paper Garden’s Recovery party will be held on Sunday March 18th and feature a unique sound instillation called Sun Boxes, among other surprises to be announced.

The first of three 7" singles from Kishi Bashi's acclaimed debut album "151a". In addition to the album single "Manchester", Side B features and an orchestral cover of "A Sunday Smile" by Beirut. 

The orchestral quartet rendition of Beirut's amazing song was arranged by Kishi Bashi, and appears exclusively on this 7” release. The recording is not available digitally, aside from the download code which accompanies the vinyl. The vinyl itself features a unique Purple & Orange colored splatter design. 

Each of the three 7"s in this series features a different orchestral cover song on Side B,  a different vinyl color, and corresponding cover art which forms triptych when all three are placed side by side.

The band are now on the verge of releasing a new anticipated album, Uncanny Valley, out on June 17th, their first output since previous albums Dystopia and The Crystal Axis. This EP is the first taste of their new material, which sounds uniquely Midnight Juggernauts. Situated at a self-styled nexus between genre and era, their new output may be described as warm-hearted cold wave, interstellar harmony's, early 1950's house, steeped in the darkness of dusty Giallo soundtracks, audio spomeniks at once futuristic and rustic, a bold musical future envisaged through a soundtrack to a forgotten Eastern Bloc Tarkovsky film, sifting through the ruins of LPs past.
