Melbourne-based artist Sandy Hsu releases Woman, the third and final single from her stunningly bold EP She Comes To Me In A Fever Dream out via Healthy Tapes.

Following on from her first two singles Angel Energy and Limbo, Woman is a slowly and delicately layered opening track, composed using only Sandy’s vocals yet sounding full and nuanced with no accompaniment - a reflection of Sandy’s choral background and sure to appeal to fans of Julianna Barwick or Grouper.

“The inspiration behind this track was ‘movement’. I wanted to create a piece that would undulate around the listeners head. To me, the voice is the most powerful instrument. I didn’t want to overcomplicate things, so it is a cappella. There is beauty in simplicity. I find harmonies and natural overtones that arise from group singing really pure and beautiful.”

In the lead up to Sandy’s new EP, her single Angel Energy has reached #2 on the AMRAP charts, and the vivid and nostalgic Limbo was premiered by Frankie Magazine and featured on Purple Sneakers who described her music “beautifully effortless”. A transitional and reflective release, She Comes To Me In A Fever Dream explores themes of tenderness, strength, femininity, change and self-reconciliation. Sandy describes the release as having ‘many moments of inward looking, observing my own growth and possibly how that reflects outwardly’.

Woman is out on 10th September. It is taken from Sandy Hsu’s upcoming EP She Comes To Me In A Fever Dream out via Healthy Tapes digitally and on limited cassette on September 26th.
