Baltimore-raised, Joy Postell, is a singer/songwriter who provides a sultry, soulful sound with a theatrical twist. Joy Postell began her music career in middle school where she studied theater and the arts. Throughout her time in high school, she began to record cover songs on her mother's Tascam 4-track machine before releasing her original music on SoundCloud which gained more traction than expected, when she relocated to Los Angeles for college.

Throughout her years of cultivating her sound, Joy Postell has mastered her craft in singing thanks to her talented mother who has not only instilled in her a love for music but was also her first vocal coach.

In 2016, Postell released her first single titled ‘Consciousness’ and from there, her music career catapulted. In 2018, Postell released her first album ‘Diaspora’ and later set the bar high in 2019 with her EP ‘Back and Forth’ releasing her hit, Back and Forth, which narrates a tale of indecision versus certainty within the self. Featured in Pitchfork, Fader, and The New York Times, Joy has been easily recognized as THE breakout artist to look out for.
