Funky R&B; Blues; Blues Rock. While not exactly autobiographical of my current state as an old but still somewhat viable male of the species, this tune retains a message relevant to the lives of all the poor testosterone-afflicted young bucks out there.

In My Prime

Rising out of the haze of Los Angeles emerges Onostatic. A psychedelic rock ensemble for the future returning to the organic roots of electric sound. With Joe Fulginiti on drums, Perry Tee on guitar and Alex Painter on bass and vocals, their self-titled debut fuses desert guitars, electronic sounds, tribal drums and soaring lyrics into a fire filled epic. In the tradition of Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin and in the company of Queens of the Stone Age, Massive Attack and The Mars Volta, Ononstatic has forged the energy of improvisation with the craft of song writing into a unique style of their own.
	During the summer of 2003, the first sessions emerged that would bring together Tee and Painter with Fulginiti to form Onostatic. In the hills of North East Los Angeles a sound was created as the trio reworked a handful of Painter’s material into a full-fledged show.  While performing at local L.A. clubs and underground loft parties the band started recording their 1st album, splitting the sessions between Alex and Joes studios. They transcended their technical limitations and ended up with an album none of them expected.	
           During this period an event occurred which brought some symbolism to the music. After a cousin of Perry’s saw his name posted on an Internet site, Perry Tee reunited with his family in Brazil, a reunion twenty years due. In the light of this joyous event Painter was inspired to shape the album into a concept piece, telling the tale of an individual’s break from the source and eventual return to it. The music became a testament to all the journeys of modern times, where so many people leave their homes and are cast into the maze of the world to find their way. A portrait of L.A. evolved from these stories painting the metropolis as the departure and destination for so many seeking new ways of life. The refrain to the album is “remember, love is forever”, a tribute to the power of music, family and the light that carries us through dark times and through an often hostile world. The sonic result is a journey itself, which takes us through crashing highs and lows, and ends in a sweet resolve. 
	The energy of live performance is at the root of this band’s agenda as they continue to seek new venues and build their audience. They are currently seeking exciting places to play and other bands to play with, and are particularly interested in opportunities to tour and distribute their music abroad. They are also looking for other ways to showcase their material, including satellite radio and internet websites as well as more traditional formats.

The Madman

A jazz fusion ditty I wrote in the 1970s after a particularly vivid dream. Emerging technology has finally made it possible to record it without having to teach people all the weird parts. The song is somewhat difficult and esoteric and any session musicians able to cut it would be pretty expensive. It's not going to break any popularity records, but I feel it should be out there. Was Jesus a space alien? Am I one, for that matter? Are you? According to this odd little song, anything is possible.
