Analizamos las iniciativas de resistencia contra las redadas y detenciones de inmigrantes que siguen generando terror en todo Estados Unidos. El Servicio de Inmigración y Control de Aduanas (ICE, por sus siglas en inglés) viene siendo objeto de fuertes críticas por detener a activistas que documentan redadas en diferentes comunidades del país, a pesar de ser en muchos casos ciudadanos estadounidenses. Este fue el caso de la enfermera y activista comunitaria Amanda Trebach, arrestada violentamente en la madrugada del viernes 8 de agosto en Los Ángeles cuando filmaba las operaciones de los agentes federales de inmigración en la zona. Trebach, que forma parte de la organización comunitaria Unión del Barrio, quedó bajo custodia federal y fue liberada el sábado 9, después de una intensa presión comunitaria, sin que se presentaran cargos penales en su contra.

“Este es solo un ejemplo más de cómo actúan el Gobierno de Trump y sus agentes fascistas del ICE, o quienquiera que sean, porque no están identificados, que violan los derechos y violan la ley que se supone que deben proteger”, dice Ron Góchez, otro activista de Unión del Barrio.
