This is my 100th track posted to Soundcloud! While I may have written a few more songs than this, it is really cool for me to hit this milestone with you all. I've been working on this album, "False Palmetto", for most of 2023 so far and I think this track will cap it off. Unless I get a hit of inspiration over the weekend I think this album has everything it needs. It traverses a serious change in my life that I have had to accept and adapt to. The lyrics and the vibes across the way lament the old but embrace the new. One of the newest vibes incorporated into the album and my life has been reigniting a friendship with bassist, Jeremy Wiser. It's been super cool collaborating with him and this track shows exactly why I enjoy working with him. I think I want my next album to be a completely collaborative affair, so I didn't want to dump any more tasty tracks onto this one. This song was super fun to record and mess around with and, like all of my songs, it's perfectly imperfect. I hope you enjoy listening! Lyrics are listed below.

This song is a cover of a cover that Jerry Garcia (guitar), Merle Saunders (keys), John Kahn (bass), and Bill Vitt (drums) recorded live at the Keystone in Berkley, CA, in 1973. It's actually a cover they did of a song called Finders Keepers by the Chairmen of the Board.

Other Locations was originally released in 1996 on the German record label Broken Seal. It was the first CD release from Blink Twice and the label's second release.
At the time there was a zine culture in electronic music, where artists would send their cassettes through the mail to different underground music zines for review across the globe. It was really the only way to get one's music heard.
After putting out numerous cassettes in the early to mid 1990s, Blink Twice had earned a reputation as a unique dark ambient artist in America.

The dark mysterious sound of Blink Twice resonated in European countries, with favorable reviews in the Slovakian zine Crewzine, the Belgian leading electronic magazine Side-Line, Phosphor, and Wounded magazine from Lithuania. The sound of Blink Twice earned comparisons to artists like early Delerium, Dead Can Dance, Nightmare Lodge, SPK, and some of the Cold Meat Industry roster from Sweden such as Raison d'etre, Morthound, and Deustch Nepal. Although generally classified under the genre of "dark ambient", Blink Twice utilized much more melody and percussion than most ambient. Many tracks display the melodic layering and tribal percussion that are showcased in some current Mood Exhibit material.

"Other Locations" is finally available here on the Mood Exhibit Bandcamp page, Robert Salchak's official distribution for all his music.
It includes a large selection of bonus material from the era (1993-1996) that was either never released or only available on cassette.

Hidden as the last track is an epic nearly 15 minute tribal ambient excursion that can only be described as Dead Can Dance era Spiritchaser" (1996) meets Delerium era "Spheres I"(1994)

It is an essential historic document for followers of Mood Exhibit, as well as any fan of dark ambient/neoclassical/tribal/cinematic sounds.
